13th March 2014:

Interesting to see you add some depth to the earlier life of a more minor character in the series, in the form of Amos Diggory.

I thought you made a nice jump from what we see of Amos based on his attire and actions in canon to this figure who was once consumed by wanderlust (per your title). It is interesting that his sense of loyalty to the object of his letters shines through, much as his faithfulness to his son shone through in GoF.

I enjoyed that you took Amos and Edgar through vastly different settings as well, ranging from Egypt to Australia. You described the scenes they encountered where he chose to write the letters well and I felt like I could picture the locations in my mind's eye without having too much laid out for me to feel like a bit of an explorer myself.

One thing that might have been nice in those snapshots would have been to take us a little deeper inside Amos and/or Edgar's head to really get a more profound appreciation for their experiences. I think this could have been done through more extensive inner monologues or even through dialogue (like expanding the conversation in Australia).

Anyway, it was an interesting read! Thanks for posting!
