Hey there! This review is for Story Search Round 1, which is part of QTR's Fourth Birthday Celebration! :D

I love Arthur/Molly when they're at Hogwarts, and the Valentine's Day cuteness between these two is just priceless. You've captured a young Arthur perfectly, what with his clumsiness and well-meaning-but-awkward-ness. He's so adorable! And it seems like his question, "What's the function of a rubber duck?" becomes a stand-in for when he doesn't really know what else to say (like in the HP books, ahaha). The fact that his friend sent Molly to the same dance studio is too funny, and I love the last line especially. "As long as we don't have to dance." I can completely identify with their pain about this. :D

Brilliant job!

Hey there, just stopping by from the BvB battle! :) When I clicked on your page to see what stories you had and saw this, I knew I had to stop by and see - it sounded so sweet and cute and just adorable, and Molly and Arthur are one of those couples I keep a soft spot for ;)

Strangely enough, this is the second Molly/Arthur one-shot I've seen revolving around dancing and them getting together - it being a way they meet/fall in love/he asks her out, etc. But, it's such a lovely, lovely idea!

I love the premise of having a Valentine's Dance just for the seventh years! I can really imagine Dumbledore loving the concept of Valentine's Day, you know, and it's such a nice twist on the usual 'Yule Ball' theme. The dance lessons... omigosh, I did not expect what happened to happen, haha! I was so sure he was going to ask her out, but I had no idea that that was what Zach wanted to say and what was really going on - I love it! :)

I really love as well how you characterised Arthur. He is bumbling, but he's also brave and strong and determined and curious and a bit silly, and I really thought you brought all those things out in him in this - he really seemed like a younger version of the Arthur from the books. His nervousness and habit of staring at Molly was so sweet too - it's such a typical feeling, I think, and I loved how you portrayed their relationship pre-dating. They're sort of not-quite-friends, and I like that!

A quick thing: you said at one point 'it had become a rage at Hogwarts', which doesn't quite work. I think you were trying to adapt the phrase 'it was all the rage' or just not quite getting it right? Either way, I think that's the phrase you want! I just wanted to point it out since otherwise this was so good and it's a little, easily-corrected thing! :)

So yeah, I really, really liked this! It's such a sweet, simply one-shot and your writing's great, Arthur is such a brilliant character... just so good! :)

I'm reading all of the challenge entries (finally), and yours was first on the list!

I really enjoyed this story, it was cute, and I like the way you tied them together. I also think that dropping in the rubber duck comment was just about the funniest thing I've read. I laughed out loud at that part. I think you did a really great job with this story!

I think that your story was creative, and you did a really great job using the prompt you got (At least, from my challenge, I don't know what you were given for Courtney's!). Thanks for entering!!

Good luck!

xoxo Sarah

Hey there! Thanks so much for entering the Uncomfortable Challenge!

Oh my god, I absolutely love what you did with the prompt! This was just such a cute, adorable, fluffy, perfect, amazing one-shot! It made me heart melt and put this bog goofy smile all over my face!

You characterized the young Arthur perfectly, and basically just made me want to read more about Molly and Arthur and their time at school! This was just so easy and fun to read...ugh! Why is this only a one-shot! I want more!

I really liked Arthur's friend, too. When he said that there was something he wanted to tell Arthur, I was sure that it was Molly was going to the dance with someone I was very happy when I found out that the real reason was, in fact, that Molly had been taking dancing lessons too!

And by the way, I loved this line: 'The headmaster was thrilled when he discovered that there was a Muggle day for celebrating the concept of love and had immediately declared that there would be a dance on the night of February the fourteenth.' That's so Dumbledore!

This was an amazing one-shot!

Author's Response: I just read the results over by the forums and I am still in shock! Thankyouthankyouthankyou!

I'm thrilled that you loved this story! I feel that there hasn't been much written on Arthur and Molly, especially their school life. When you gave me the Weasley prompt I real couldn't resist writing something about these two darlings.

Arthur is just adorable in the books and I guessed his behavior as a teenager could have been no different. Haha, perhaps I'll write something else about them in the future!

I'm glad you liked the line about Dumbledore. I felt that with all the lovey-doveyness going around, the headmaster was not to be excluded. I'm very happy that you enjoyed the story perhaps almost as much as I enjoyed writing it. Thanks for an amazing challenge and an equally amazing review!

Hello! :) Sorry for taking so long to get here. :(

Aw, I really loved this. I wish there were more Arthur/Molly stories since we don't know much about their courtship and there's so much room for possibility. I love Arthur here with all his little Muggle-loving quirks especially.

The idea of the waltz become all the rage at Hogwarts is so funny, I love how sort of antiquated Muggle things become really fascinating trends for them. :P Dumbledore organizing Valentine's Day celebrations was perfect as well since he is the expert on love in HP so it fits he would want to spread the love as much as possible. :)

I've always thought that Arthur was just head-over-heels for Molly and this really showed that in such a lovely and silly way. It seemed to fit so perfectly that they were both nervous about dancing - I wouldn't expect them to be any other way about dancing. :P I think my favourite moment was when they were laughing down the street together and it showed how well they get along and how much fun they have together.

We were- We were going to ask you what- what is the function of a rubber duck! Arthur blurted out before he could hold his tongue. Hahaha, I actually laughed out loud when I read this. It was just so perfectly Arthur-ish and I could really sense Molly's bewilderment mixed with her sadness that he didn't ask her to the dance.

This was a lovely little story, I really enjoyed it and how it gave me all these happy Arthur/Molly thrills! It's nice to imagine them showing the kids how to waltz and telling them this story of how they got together way in the future. :) Thanks for the swap!

Author's Response: I'm sorry for taking so unbelievably long to get back to you! Especially since this review is so lovely! I haven't had much experience in writing Arthur/Molly stories and seeing how much fun I had writing this one, I'm regretting not trying this out earlier. I'm so glad you liked the idea of the waltz as well as the little quirks about Arthur's personality. I'm glad I managed to relate the Arthur in my story to the Arthur in the books.

Thank you so much for this really amazing review!

Hi there! I'm here for the BvB review battle!

I love how light and humorous this story is. Your characterization of Arthur is brilliant. He seems like just the person to not know which is his left foot! :D

"Air conditioners are fascinating things." This was such a wonderful line. I burst out laughing when I read it. And the way you brought in his question about the rubber duck was a great idea as well. It totally links him to the Arthur in the HP books.

I love how Molly bumps into Arthur at the dance class. That moment was just such a huge coincidence, but so cute! The ending line is perfect. You've done a great job!

Author's Response: Hello!

Thanks so much for this lovely review! I'm so glad that you liked Arthur's characterization. He really is the epitome of teenage awkwardness and was a blast to write about. He's a person you can associate with quirky lines, which makes him a really fun guy. I'm no expert on fluff, so I'm thrilled that you thought some bits were cute! Thanks again!

Haha, I know this isn't what you had specifically written, but when Arthur ran into Molly wearing gym clothes similar to him, all I could think of was how funny/adorable they are because they match! This was super sweet and even the chapter summary had me chuckling. Great work, especially for a first Arthur/Molly!

Author's Response: Yay! I'm so glad you liked that bit :D
I'm very happy that the story made you laugh, even the chapter summary! I'm blushing a bit right now because of this review. Thanks so much!

Uh. Such a lovely story!

I saw your story as we have responded to the same challenge, the Valentine's Day challenge! And that you have incorporated it with the other challenge as well, is brilliant.

The story is very sweet and funny, I loved how nervous Arthur was, trying to impress Molly and all when in reality she felt exactly the same way.

Great story, and you write exceptionally well.

Good luck with the challenge!

Author's Response: Thanks for this lovely surprise! Fellow contestant, may the odds be ever in our favor. I'm known to be a bit of a multi-tasker due to my procrastinating abilities and tendency to participate in too many challenges. I'm really glad you liked the story because it's my first proper fluff so I'm thrilled that it worked out alright. Thank you ever so much for complimenting my writing although a lot of the credit is due to my lovely beta reader :) Good luck to you too!!
