Hi there! :) Here from review swap on the forums.

I think this is a really interesting beginning, especially with the foreboding first section. I've never read a story where one of the next gen kids has cancer so this feels very creative and gives the reader a sense of running out of time and needing to live life to the fullest. I'm also quite worried about what will happen to Molly. The lines about fate being her enemy were very tragic and intriguing and really set a sad but hopeful tone for the rest of the chapter.

I laughed at how you described her parents and sister, since Percy pompousness was always a great part of the HP books. But then the details about her parents being the ones to take her to all those appointments were great testimony to their being good parents as well. I was wondering, she made it seem a little like she didn't know Teddy until he asked her to study with him in class: wouldn't they have known one another as kids and at Hogwarts since Teddy and Harry were close, and because of Victoire? Though I guess Molly would have been quite busy with her treatments so she might not have had as much time for socializing.

I like how up front she is about her cancer, she seems very spirited and brave. I really like her! The comment about wanting to tear her hair out made me smile as well, I like the way she's quite courageous about her sickness and seems to be able to make little jokes about it.

I'm curious to see the interactions between the characters and how Molly gets to have a little fairytale romance- that's so sweet! Teddy seems interesting as well, it's funny how she calls him annoying but I think it's an original idea how they're out of Hogwarts already and clearly both quite ambitious. This was a really interesting first chapter, I enjoyed it and am very intrigued to see where the story will go next! :)

Author's Response: Yay for review swap!

Oh goodness, I'm glad that the beginning really draws you in. I'm glad that it was clear, and obviously got the points I wanted across.

Haha her parents crack me up. The whole Percy/Audrey relationship just amuses me. But they are wonderful parents, as you can read.
I do actually have Molly and Teddy several years apart, but besides that, you are right. Molly was in treatment most of her Hogwarts years, but hopefully that will be cleared up in later chapters.

Yay for liking Molly. In almost everything I read about her, she has no personality, so I'm so so happy that you liked her!

Again, yay for liking my characters and an interesting first chapter! Thank you so much for your lovely review, I'm literally smiling at my screen right now.(:

Hi Katie!

I love the premise of this story!! You started it out beautifully and I'm already loving Molly and the way she's telling her story. I feel for her and the line "Because what mother wants to hear that her daughter is a loser with a knack of being a joke, and the master of being forgotten" really tugged at my heart! I was so happy that Teddy showed up at the end and I can't wait to find out more about their story :)
Happy Holidays!!

Author's Response: Aw Kristen!

Thank you so much for your lovely review! I'm so glad that Molly is a positive character for you. In some ways, it was hard writing her, because everyone makes her a cookie-cutter Percy, and I just didn't want her to come across that way. I'm also delighted to hear that quote relays stood out to you, I literally re-wrote that sentence 346432 times!:P

I hope to fill you in soon enough with their story, and with that, I hope you had a wonderful holiday, and a very happy New Year!

Cheers, and thank you so so much once again!(:
Katie(:

I don't usually read this kind of thing, but I really enjoyed it. Your introduction was really well done and the flow was pretty good. I like that you told us who her parents were a bit into the story. Your line about Percy as you introduced him was great and kinda of grounded me a bit in your fic. You did a really good job with her narrative voice.

Thanks for the chance to review!

Author's Response: Yay for tag!

I'm glad you decided to jump along though, I can't wait to return the favor!(:

Thank you so much for giving my story a try! I'm glad everything flowed well, and the introduction wasn't too blunt. Thank you so much for the kind words and great review! I'll be swinging by your page in a few!

Many thanks again!(:

Katie

I don't know if I've read a Teddy/Molly fic before. I don't read a lot of Next Gen actually.

I really enjoyed the narrative voice. She's easy to read and extremely engaging. I like her funny (haha) way of explaining her family and relationship with Teddy. Her Leukemia experience was heartbreaking and yet light-hearted with her way of talking about it showed how much she had healed (emotionally).

The ending is so sweet. I would have been so upset if he didn't show. I kind of want this to be a longer story where I can see their romance blosom but it is very well put together with the length you have here.

Author's Response: Yay!

I'm pretty sure Molly/Teddy is completely random, especially on my part. She just didn't fit with anyone else. And I didn't really want to have to deal with introducing an OC especially when there would be so many complications if I stuck with Teddy, hence, my Molly/Teddy fic.

I'm so glad Molly's voice is easy to read. I feel that everyone makes Molly a copy of her father, and that poor girl never gets any personality. Personally, never having cancer, I'm so glad that came across clearly. I was super worried about how this would translate onto here, but I'm glad I voiced this well.(:

Lastly, you seem to be in luck! I do have plans to continue this, and I'm pretty sure this is the most thought out story I have ever planned for, so we will definitely see how far I can actually take this.

Thank you so much for the lovely review!
Always, Katie
