10th February 2014:
This is a great chapter. I really like how Severus is closest to Remus, which is definitely the most realistic to their characters, and I thought the library scene when all the other Gryffindors arrived was cute.

I can't wait to see where you go with this story, particularly with the introduction of the Slytherins at the end of the chapter.

I hope to post the results this evening.

Great work!

Hello! First off, I'd like to thank you for entering my challenge.

I was very interested to see how you would tackle this prompt and so far I'm very excited by what I'm reading. I think Snape is such an interesting character and I'm curious to see where you'll go with his new house.

Great start!

Review #3, by Rumpelstiltskin Soul Friends

20th January 2014:
I've been waiting to read this one, and it must have slipped by me. Oops.

So, I like the transition between the last chapter and this. We (the readers) were getting comfortable with the idea of Severus Snape being sorted into Gryffindor in the last chapter, and now we have flashed-forward to his seventh year, when we can see some clear differences in what was ans what would be.

Becoming pals with the Marauders in this what-if is a definite plausibility. Despite the brief dispute on the train (which I'm assuming still happened as James wasn't keen of Severus immediately, I can absolutely see the boys getting over the scuffle. After all, the entire point James was attempting to make was that Gryffindor was far better than Slytherin, because Gryffindor's were brave at heart. Severus' sorting would have proven to the Marauders that he was, indeed, brave.

On Severus and Lily's remaining friendship, I also believe that this is a plausibility. Severus' alliance may have changed along with his House. Since he wasn't directly under the influence of other Slytherins who were joining Voldemort's ranks, Severus may have been more apt to side with his friends.

On James/Lily/Severus, well, I'm just curious as to how that's all going to pan out. Severus clearly still has feelings for Lily in this, so things are bound to get interesting.

Author's Response: Thank you so much for this review. I contemplated keeping it only as first year and then i decided it would be interesting to have chapters that are kind of like flashbacks.
