Review #1, by teh tarik Your Twinkling Stars

5th March 2014:
Hello there! I just happened to come across your story randomly, and I saw that it was about Dennis and Coline Creevey, my absolute FAVOURITE characters to read and write about. I just had to stop and read your lovely fic.

And goodness me, this gave me all of the feels. :( :( I feel Colin's death hit me again as well as Dennis' eternal desolation (this is going a bit far, but i really do imagine that Dennis is devastated by Colin's death, and will not recover for quite some time).

This was a beautiful, beautiful loveletter to his brother, even if Colin is already dead. I get that Dennis is writing this letter not so much for Colin, but for himself; it's to bring resolution to the whole affair, a sense of acceptance that his brother is truly gone, and it's also a promise he makes to himself. I love it; it's so beautiful.

I love the little details in your letter, too. The shock and horror felt by his parents, and Kingsley making an appearance at the Creevey household was a brilliant touch. You've captured Kingsley's character so perfectly - his sense of authority, his eloquence and compassion, as well as his wisdom. And the final part with Ginny was a lovely addition. They're both bonded by loss, and this is slightly comforting, because they understand each other, what each other is going through, and I guess they know that they're not alone in their grief.

This was such a heartbreaking oneshot! Lovely writing; I really enjoyed reading this! ♥

Author's Response: Hullo! I'm very glad you /did/ decide to read my little fic, and even happier than you gave me even MORE of your precious time to leave me such a lovely review!

I'm honestly not quite sure why the majority of my fics are so very depressing; I'm reasonably sure one evening I was just sad and decided to shove off my feels on the rest of the HP universe! Wow. That run-on sentence made me seem even more sadistic than I am, hahaha.

That said, I guess I truly do enjoy depressing other people, as I had far too much fun writing this. I'm a rather discreet author, so to my credit I assumed no one would see it. It honestly made my day when that little notification popped up at the top of my screen: 1 Unanswered Review! I clicked it right away, not quite believing it, and now I can't stop smiling!

Thank you SO much for reading, reviewing, and enjoying!

Review #2, by Rumpelstiltskin Your Twinkling Stars

31st December 2013:
Hello dear!

I am here for the fifth task of the 12 Days of Reviewing challenge on the forums.

This was positively heartbreaking! I nearly cried.

Dennis' unanswered questions to Colin are almost too much! Colin died a hero, as did many people in the school that day. The initial reactions to Colin's departure to Hogwarts were fantastic. I especially loved the father's paranoid state due to the war's ominous pressure.

In the section where Shaklebolt is speaking directly to Dennis, I really loved the lines of Denis speaking to Colin in between. It created very powerful emotions that shone through the dialogue alone.

Ginny's relation to Dennis' situation was a nice touch, as well. Dennis is nowhere near alone in his loss, despite how great it is. The war really compromised many families, but the living will begin to move forward with the help of others. I loved their pact, it was very touching.

We will never forget.

This was a fantastic tribute to Colin!

Author's Response: Thank you so much for this lovely review! I rarely get them (Blame me for never updating, hahaha), and so this has honestly made my day!

I originally wrote far more than this; two or three more chapters, but I'm not really sure if I'll post them. I think perhaps this was meant to be a one-shot.

I'm not quite sure why I wrote this, to be honest. It was back in May, the night before I left for camp. I was up all night, and apparently had nothing better to do than write a depressing letter from a minor character to a dead one. I love the world that JK Rowling has created.

Thank you again- so, so, so much- for this beautiful review! I really appreciate it.
