Review #1, by TheHeirOfSlytherin The Thrill of the Hunt

8th January 2014:
Hey, it's Sam here, reviewing your entry for my Supernatural Creature challenge. :)

Wow. The one thing I love more than werewolf stories are werewolf stories that give an insight into the mind of a werewolf when they're turned. And you wrote it amazingly.

I love it in second person, it made the whole reading experience different somehow, like I was watching the wolf and what it was doing not just reading about it.

Ooh, that last line was awesome. Reminded readers that it's a werewolf, and not just a wolf. It makes chasing after a doe for food a little more chilling in a way, knowing that a human is in there somewhere, thinking of blood and hunger.

Thank you so much for entering my challenge!

Author's Response: Thank you very much for the lovely review Sam! I'm glad you enjoyed my challenge entry, it was so much fun to write! I find that I don't read enough werewolf stories because there just aren't enough out there! Thanks again.

Review #2, by MissesWeasley123 The Thrill of the Hunt

6th January 2014:
Hello! Here for day 11 of the 12 Days of reviewing. And I must say, this was amazing.

First of all - second person. Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant! It made this story just so much more impactful and gut wrenching because of the style you chose to write it like. There were many lines that I adored, and I'll read them out for you:

Amber on brown. Desire on fear.

For somewhere deep inside of you, you are human.

Those two lines were brilliant. The first one was some excellent imagery, while the second was gripping. It made me feel so bad for whoever this werewolf was. Your descriptions are so good, I honestly have no words. In less than 1K words you managed to show an entire night, an entire full moon! This was fabulous my dear!

The chase, the doe and the werewolf was so intense. It's the first fic I've ever read that's entirely on animals, rather than characters, which is amazing.

Honestly, you write very nicely. Good luck in the challenge, I hope you win!

Happy New Year!

Author's Response: Hi there! Gosh thank you so much, this review was so nice! I felt all gushy after this! You are very fabulous my dear for reading my little one-shot and I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Thank you again and good luck to you as well!

Review #3, by DracoFerret11 The Thrill of the Hunt

7th December 2013:
Hello there! This is DarkRose from the forums! I saw that you were also participating in the "Supernatural Creatures Challenge" and figured I would come and check out your entry! So, let's go over things:

Plot: I liked that this was almost National Geographic-like (if that makes sense). It was stylistically very different from a lot of stories I've read. I liked that a lot! Plot-wise, not much happened, but when you hit that last line, you realize everything that's going on and it makes the whole story mean that much more. Well done.

Descriptions: I loved all of the details of the wolf's heightened senses and thirst for blood. You might even be able to delve MORE into how things smell, look, sound, etc. Like...can the wolf see the beads of sweat on the deer? Or is smell the sense that's most heightened? Something like that. The details you have are great, but even more wouldn't go amiss.

Emotions: Most of this story is animalistic, appropriately. The second to last paragraph, though, is where the human in the werewolf has a moment of self-realization. That could be more obvious. There would be SO much hurt and confusion and self-hate, and showing that in the body of the wolf, how it moves, how it leans against a tree in exhaustion at itself or something, that could really enhance that final moment of realization.

Overall, I think this was great! I've got some competition, that's for sure! :) Good luck in the challenge!

Author's Response: Gosh hi! Thank you very much for this awesome review! I will definitely revise the ending because I completely agree with your ideas, wish I'd thought of them! Good luck to you too!

Review #4, by Siriusly89 The Thrill of the Hunt

26th August 2013:
Hello! Siriusly89 here with the review swapsie!

I love one-shots written from this point of view, it always works well for angsty or horror, doesnít it. I always stop myself from reading the details of the story (I like a good mystery me) so, judging from the first paragraph, itís either a vampire, a werewolf, or weíre inside an animals mind. Iím leaning towards either werewolf or animal, but I could be proven wrong!

Aha! I was right itís an animal/werewolf. Can I just take a minute here to compliment your imagery and description? I feel like Iím actually in this big, green forest, watching this mysterious creature fly silently along. The whole Ďamber orbsí thing very nearly sent chills down my spine. I like how youíre sort of slowly revealing more and more about this creature as we go on, I love it!

Ah. Mysterious creature is going to kill the poor little doe. Iím not a vegetarian or anything, but just imagining the poor little helpless deer just sitting there, like a, well sitting duck while this thing is hidden ready to attack. The whole amber on brown, argh! Youíre trying to kill me. You are.

The chase. This really is leaving me speechless. Iím just sitting here, trying to type, and really, this isnít a review Iíve landed you with you poor thing, its word vomit, and lots of it, Sorry about this!

The end. Itís Remus isnít it? And that makes the whole doe thing even more significant, because thatís the female form of his best friend James, and then its like killing Lily and argh. My feels, theyíre in tatters.

This was fabulous! I am most definitely favouriting! Thank you!

Author's Response: Ohmygoodness I love this review! Honestly it made me grin so much that I read through it a second time and it made me grin even more. Thank you so much! I've never written anything like this before and I was oddly proud of it. I love Remus to pieces and I was interested about what it would be like to be in his head but not really in his head, if you get what I mean.
Thanks again!

Review #5, by Siriusgirl The Thrill of the Hunt

26th August 2013:
Hi, this is Coppertop for the review swap.
I loved this, it's a really powerful and clever look at what goes on inside a werewolf's mind, since they're really human but are under a curse and have to control. Great job!

Author's Response: Thanks so much! It was weird writing it because it's like nothing I've ever done before! Thanks for the review, I appreciate it!
P.S I like review swaps :P
