Review #1, by bri_5_stars Prologue and Chapter One: The Unusual Customers

10th September 2013:
You were right, this is a very long chapter. Not a bad thing, it is just packed full with a lot of information. If I would comment on anything I would say you are great at description (it was almost reminiscent of the first chapter of HP) , its just the amount of it in this chapter was a tad overwhelming. As well as the repeated mantra that the Feathers are indeed a peculiar family. Other than that, I found it rather an interesting prolouge. Good job, keep writing. :D brithewriter

Author's Response: Cheers for that, you make some great points that I am definitely keeping in mind for the next time I edit this one!! :)

Review #2, by HeyMrsPotter Prologue and Chapter One: The Unusual Customers

2nd September 2013:
Hello! I'm here with the second of your reviews :)

I think this is an excellent prologue/first chapter! You have an amazing ability to create such fascinating characters. This is the third of your stories that I've read and each time I'm completely mesmorised by the characters you write.

The style of writing in this really reminded me of the A Series of Unfortunate Events stories, in it's quirkiness and your narrative voice.

I love the history that you've given the Feather's, it seems each generation is as unique as this one. I love that they're all obsessive tea drinkers (with the exception of tea!), it's such a British thing to do :D

I know you love constructive criticism but I'm afraid I have absolutely none to give you (as usual) your writing is just beyond flawless! I'm looking forward to reading the next chapter when it is posted.

Author's Response: Huzzah! This has been up for so long and you're the first to review it! Thank you for the kind words!! To be even put in the same space as Lemony Snicket made me feel like I've drunk too much lemonade and it's fizzling out my nose! (That was a thank you, somehow ...) Cheers!!
