16th July 2013:
Hermione's ever so famous bag. I don't think i've read a story which has been so centred on it before and I love that it is so unique in that instance.

I love the fact that she's so torn between taking her sentimental books for dear of being teased by the boys and that's sad because whilst yes they should be conserving space there was more than enough space in there for all of the books and the bag certainly didn't put on weight. I think it's lovely how she planned on taking Hogwarts: a history as she was very aware of their history and how their books could help them in the long run.

Also taking the muggle fiction books is really sweet!

Author's Response: Yes, Hermione's beaded bag hasn't ever featured in the fanfics I'd read, and when I entered the challenge and got the quote, I knew it would fit perfectly.
There was plenty of room in there, and it didn't add any weight, but I still don't think Ron and Harry would have been too happy finding out Hermione had taken up space with books, until she explained her logic behind it. Hogwarts: A History was actually quite practical, since at some stage they believed (accurately) that a Horcrux was at Hogwarts. The Muggle fiction was half from the quote I received from the challenge, but since Hermione did live in the Muggle world for quite some time, she would have beloved books from there, so it would be natural to take these.
Thank you for reviewing!

Despite being short, this made me smile! I like how you said about Harry and Ron thinking Hermione was silly for bringing so many books with her, but her not being able to leave them behind, even if she was only taking them for sentimental value. After all, who knew how much of their stuff that they didn't take with them would still be there when they got back.

The line 'After all, it's not as if the most evil Dark Wizard in history will give us half an hour to do some research.' made me giggle at bit. The thought of it is very amusing and I really wish it could happen ;)

Her annoyance at Ron was also good and in-character. I can really imagine him leaving socks lying around and not caring about it. I also like how you mentioned some muggle books that she liked since you don't really see any of them mentioned in the series but, being a muggleborn, it's what she would have had most access to!

Great job with this!

Author's Response: Aww, thanks. I like that it made you smile, because it made me happy writing it. Yep, Harry and Ron don't really value books, but I'm sure if they could, they'd bring Quidditch gear, also for the sentimental value.
I can just imagine it. Voldemort: "Avada Keda-" Hermione: "Hang on, Voldemort, I just need to look up the counter curse for Crucio!" Voldemort: "Oh, of course, Miss Granger. I'll just sit here." *FOUR HOURS LATER* "Is she always this absorbed in books?" Ron and Harry: "Yep."
I think any girl would get annoyed at Ron's general uncleanliness in his room, so I put that in, plus it works with the character. The muggles books were a must, because after all, Hermione lived half her life in the Muggle world, so she must have had at least a few non-wizard books.
Thanks for the feedback!

Eeep. *fangirl squeal*
Love Inkheart. Love it. The movie was poorly made, don't you agree - hang on. Supposed to be talking about your one-shot.
I love that too.
Anyway, your characterisation of Hermione was really good. I also thought of her as slightly OCD, you know...
This just bring out a missing scene from the Books Themselves, which I imagined in my head to be pretty much exactly like this (minus the quote, cos I'm not so awesome as to come up with that).
Cheers, SW.

Author's Response: Eeep! *returning a fangirl squeal* Sorry, it's a tradition. When one squeals, all others do.
Thanks! I loved writing it!
I did see Hermione as slight OCD as well, but in this case, it wasn't going to be able to be explored, because I focused on another facet of her personality - her love of books. I'm glad I captured her personality...(I kinda based it on me, since I can really relate with Hermione)
Mmm, this is a scene that was ignored in the Books Themselves due to being mostly focused on Harry in that section, but oh well. That's what fanfictions for, right? Right...?
Thanks for reviewing!

HEY! I was planning on reviewing this but I never got the chance and I'm finally getting to this now!

I loved this, even though it was short you somehow managed to convey Hermione's love of books and reading really well. This actually sounded like Hermione well which is great because I hate it when canon characters are OOC and everything.

I think the part that made me squeal was when you mentioned Inkheart which is ridiculous, I know but I just love that book and that entire series so much!

Thank you for entering my challenge, I think you used the quote I gave you really well and I really enjoyed reading this!

Author's Response: Thanks! I'm happy I managed to capture Hermione's personality accurately.
I love Inkheart as well, and I am currently reading the series for about the fourth time - it's written so well, and it's such an original idea.
