Review #5, by teh tarik Chapter 1- Honey or Chocolate?

27th May 2013:
Hello there! I came across this story while browsing the Recently Added. So I think this is quite a lovely start; it's fluffy and casual and with a nice light-hearted atmosphere, but it also had gentler, more pensive feel in the beginning, when Annie was packing her things and getting ready to depart for England. These were such lovely lines: There was a slight smile lingering around her mouth as she remembered that all of the chips in the sea blue paint came from an experiment of Belles that had as usual, gone catastrophically wrong. And the stains in the woodwork of her desk, where Pierre spilt the perfume potion hed been brewing for her as a romantic gift. There were some lovely details in those sentences, which really added to that feeling of slight nostalgia, and I really enjoyed those. Speaking of Annie, I'm really really glad that you've chosen to write Next Gen from the point of an OC who is the daughter of a minor character (Dean). Dean is quite an underloved figure in fanfic, and I'm always pleased whenever I stumble upon fics with him or his family in it. So great work.

I like the way you depicted the relationship with Niamh and Annie...I'm not sure how they treat each other...whether as really close friends; it sometimes does feel that they overstep friendship boundaries into something...more :P It's interesting to read that Annie is a dancer! I'm sure you'll be exploring this aspect of her in greater detail in the next few chapters.

Anyway, this is a great first chapter! I think you've set up your main character very well, and she does sound interesting :) Great work, and do keep writing!
