19th April 2014:
Howdy! I've set myself a mission to R&R as many entries as possible if I haven't read them so I can vote justly, so here I am!

I thought this take on Alice was excellent. Naturally, thanks to the Cruciatus Curse and the brain damage we were mostly in her head, but you wrote the scenes where she was being tortured so well, handling the action and dialogue well and carefully weaving it around your really strong writing of Alice's internal thoughts and suffering.

I also found the ending section to be a very nice touch. It was an interesting thought to consider that Alice actually could hear everything being said despite what happened as well as understand it, even if she could not express her reaction to it in a manner that anyone would understand. This flowed wonderfully into the very impactful ending with Neville speaking to her and the excellent final line. I found that conclusion to be really powerful - a wonderful thing to finally see Alice express, but at the same time crushingly sad that Neville can never hear it (and that Alice knows he can't).

Well done!

Author's Response: Hi Kevin!

Thanks so much for this amazing review and that's a great mission. You have such a good and big heart! *Virtual Hugs* This review is beautiful. :)

Lo :)

Oh my goodness! That one shot is so incredibly sad! I have never actually found a story like this (though I can honestly say I have looked!). I just have always wondered if inside Frank and Alice still knew who they were. Your piece was very powerful maraudertimes. *End gushing*

Author's Response: Hi!

Oh, well I'm sorry to say I'm happy about your sadness since that's what I had intended. Well, I'm glad you liked this! Thank you!

This is a really good one shot. I love how you added Alice hearing everything around her especially Neville speaking to her and her at the end saying she was proud of Neville. If I had to give any suggestions I would say you could probably add a little more detail. Like maybe you could add more about what Alice was doing with Neville before Bellatrix showed up and add a little more about how crazy Bellatrix is. I do love what you have written though! I have to commend you on writing on this moment though as I personally could never write it.

Author's Response: Hello!

I'm really glad you liked this! This is one of my first ones and I'm so happy you found it interesting! And I will definitely try and add in the detail! The more detail the better, eh? ;)

And thank you, but I'm sure you could add your own twist and make it just that much awesomer (even though that's not techinaclly a word) in your own way!

But thank you so much, it was really helpful, I will definitely take that CC into mind when I rewrite this, and thank you again!

Here from the review swap! Sorry for the delay!

This was a tragically beautiful story. You started off with a bang and the readers were catapulted into the horrifying moment went Frank and Alice were rendered insane. Your description of the entire event was great, I could really feel the pain and torture that Alice was going through. It showed that despite her pain, her thoughts were only focused on Neville, to make sure that he was alright.
I admire the way you managed to tell the rest of the story through conversations that Alice was hearing. You smoothly switched the perspective from third to first person. You've introduced several concepts like the troubles other wizards were facing during the war, Neville's insecurities and Augusta's apprehension that she manages to conceal in a layer of indifference.

It was your ending that I loved most of all, powerful and really hits the reader between the eyes.

PS- I just went to take a peek at the review that you've given me and now this one looks terribly stiff. Neville is probably one of the most underrated characters in the series, dimming in the presence of the golden trio. I'd like to think of him as the silent hero, the one who does fantastic things on the sidelines. I really really liked this story.

Author's Response: Hi hi!
And no problem. I delay a lot with review swaps accidentally... :P

I'm glad you liked the story! And yay for selfless Alice and baby Neville! I really love Neville!

And I'm so glad you picked up on that! I didn't know if the transition would be as seamless as I wanted it to be, so I'm glad you think so! And yay for other concepts!

I'm so glad you liked the ending, because that was the part I really needed to be perfect!

And as for my review, it wasn't what I normally do, but I got caught up in your story. And your review doesn't seem stiff in the least! A somewhat sorrowful story deserves a serious review and a truly exciting story deserves flailing... which I did a lot of! :)

And yay! Neville! He is so awesome! I'm really glad you liked this story!

Thanks so much!

Author's Response: Aw, thank you!
And I did enjoy yours!
I've been busy running a review thread and doing homework, but your story is on my top priority list to read right now! :)
That CC I wish I could oblige, but I'm a Canon freak, so I couldn't possibly :(
But thank you and hope to hear from you again!
