Hufflepuff House Cup 2015 Review

Oh wow, this is such a powerful look into Neville's psyche. I feel like we normally see him when he is either young, fumbling, and seemingly useless, or when he's a bit older and has come into himself. It is very interesting to look at him here, when her is trying very hard, but still treated like he's useless.

Wow, it is really touching that Neville finds hope when he sees his parents. That would be so hard to do, and the fact that he uses that pan to keep fighting really says a lot about him.

It is hard to see Neville having so much self hared, but it is also believable.

I think it's really amazing that Neville turned around his outlook in this chapter. It is very inspiring, and in the end I am very excited for him to come into himself.

I also thought it was sweet how you tied in the Neville/Luna thread. It didn't make the story come off as too shippy, but it was a very believable motivator for Neville.

Sam.

Hi again, Amy! You're so talented at writing these short, powerful one-shots and exploring characters and their motives and reasonings, and it's so interesting and enjoyable to read them all!

Neville was written really, really well here. I like the fact that you chose to write about him before he became the hero, because I haven't read any one-shots about him like this which are set at this point - they're all after the war and when he's proved how brave he is. I felt so sorry for Neville in this story and I just wanted to give him a hug! He's constantly comparing himself to other people and putting himself down and I feel like that's really unfair on him, because he's a great person! And I loved the way that you wrote his decision and determination to be brave and make it through and prove himself. It was a great ending because we know that he actually did manage it in the end!

Review #3, by Secret Santa! :) Realisation

Back again! :)

O.M.G!!! Can I just give him a hug or something, that was jsut so sad! Wel the first part, and the bit about his gran, aww poor Neville. He's been getting put down his whole life and you showed that beautifully. You seem to be able to put a lot into a little and it's amazing! You really make the reader feel for Neville.

The next part, I love how he just decides enough is enough and it doesn't matter what others say because he can, and will, do something to save Hogwarts! I love how you brought Luna into it, you compared them really well, becuase even though they were both sort of outcasts Luna handled it better and it's nice that Neville picked up on that and wanted to change! Great job! :)

Author's Response: Hey!
Feel free to give him as many hugs as you want ;)
Thank you so much!

Hey Amy! This was lovely! You really showed Neville's emotions well, and I liked the way you contrasted Neville and Luna. The start was sad, hearing how Neville is always beaten down, but how that turned to Neville promising to stand up for Hogwarts was really touching.
I really liked this short piece, it was lovely and touching. NEVILLE IS THE GRYFFIE CHAMPION!

Love it!

- Jenny

Author's Response: Jenny! Neville is the Gryffie champion! I'm glad you liked it!! Thank you for the review!!!
