Aww. That was both sad and sweet. It's nice to read a story that takes a sympathetic attitude towards Filch, and I particularly like his reasons for naming her "Mrs. Norris" after one of the very few people who was nice to him. It's also very well written and I'm glad you told me you wrote this :)

Author's Response: Thank you so much!! :D I really enjoyed writing this story!! I really wanted to portray a different side to Filch! Thanks again for reviewing and well done on your story!!

Woah, my whole perspective of Filch has been changed.

Scrolling down the archive results under angst, I couldn't help but giggle, seeing Filch's story down there. After watching the movies, I just can't take Filch seriously. Ever.

But after reading this, I couldn't help but sympathise for him. It's really heartbreaking yes, but when one thinks of it, it's a possible story. It could explain so much of Filch's bitterness.

Upon reading this, I wonder if Rowling had ever thought of a background behind Filch. If she has, I'm more than willing to read over it.

Anyway, this was a great peice. It's really different from the big majority of stories here. I applaud you for giving us something different.

Author's Response: Awww thank you so much!! It's exactly what I set out to do! :) I was up one night thinking and I was like "What would Filch's life be like?" and I made a pact to myself to write about it! :D I'm still amazed at the responses to it! :)

I wonder that too! It would be really awesome to read the information J.K Rowling wrote on him! :)

Thanks so much again for your review! I'm so glad you liked it! :)

This was such a heartbreaking story :(

I never thought of Filch's childhood really, but you did a good job creating one for him. The way he was treated must have had an impact on his personality, so it seemed right to have a horrible childhood.

Mrs. Norris. I loved how he found her, and how he named her after his teacher! That's so sweet.

The only thing I would suggest is just to read through this again. You have a couple spots where you have some run on sentences, and stuff like that :) Nothing really big or distractiong, just a few little errors.

Great job on this story though!

I have spotted a couple of errors on a read through I did but it was like the middle of night so I didn't get time to fix them ahaha Some of the major ones are under validation as I write this but I'm going now to check over the smaller ones :) Thanks for the advice!
