Hello there :)
Okay, usually Snily isn't my kind of thing but I gave this a try and I did not regret.
I love the way you've portrayed Severus' emotions, thoughts and feeling before his last breathe. This was a nice short and effective one shot. It really does tug on your heartstrings and make you feel for Snape before his death. It really shows strong emotions towards Lily and how he's thinking back and wishing things were different. I also like that it's not too fluffy and overdone. I think you did this piece justice :)Author's Response: Thank you for the review!
I was really apprehensive about doing this story, but I thought it was alright, worth posting at least. :) I love how everyone comments on the length and likes it because honestly I was really unsure about how short it was!! Thank you so much for such a kind review! I really appreciate it! Report Review
I missed her beyond belief. She was my everything, all that I have done up to this very moment was for her.
^ That right there. So simple and yet so powerful at the same time.
I hold a special heart in my place for Severus. I really didn't want him to die. I never truly saw him as evil. Maybe it's because when I started to read fanfiction I read stories about him and even when he was painted as a horrible person in them...I still thought there was something about him.
The way you were able to push aside all his animosity and just write what he was feeling was wonderful. Not many can write his feelings about Lily without making him sound so...well...disgustingly sappy, you know what I mean? He's kind of an old soul, I think his thoughts would have been more complicated just like you wrote here.
Wonderful job! :DAuthor's Response: Severus is my favorite character by far, I love him dearly. He's always held a special place in my heart. I too always thought he was really a good guy and I remember deciding that even if he wasn't I was still going to love him!
I agree with you, I always saw him as kind of an old soul as ell. I'm really glad I could do it justice for you. That makes me feel great! thanks so much for the reviews! I really appreciate it!! :) Report Review
Wow. This is.. there are no words for it. First things first, you made me tear up and darned near cry. That doesn't happen very often. Snape has always been my favourite character and this is just... hitting home for me.
I loved his vulnerability here, you brought out the side I always knew he had. Thank-you.
Very beautiful piece. Keep up the good work.
BrittaniqueAuthor's Response: Awe! Snape is my favorite character as well so I really wanted to show him in a different light, there was always an innocence in the love he had for Lily I think and I just wanted to bring that out!
Thank you for the kind review!!! I'm really happy you enjoyed it! :) Report Review
Hey there! I'm here from the Slytherin review tag.
First off, I am a big Snape/Lily fan, though I've never written one myself. You did a great job here at working the pairing into canon. You've also done a great job showing Snape's pain, and describing the venom moving through his body - it's something that's easy to overdo, and I, at least, find writing a character's dying moments one of the hardest things to do. You did a great job at showing the common theory of life flashing before your eyes before you die. The fact that Snape was thinking about Lily, well, it shows how much he loved her.
That's something that's true in canon, and you've done a great job at elaborating on what JKR told us about Snape's feelings for Lily. My favourite line was:
"I couldn't think of her as Lily Potter - that hurt way to much."
It's so simple, yet it speaks volumes about Snape's relationship with her. He wouldn't have approached her much after she was married, because it would have been too hard to ignore the fact that she was with James, not him. In that one line, you've captured so much of what makes Snape himself, and his attitude towards Lily.
-GiolaAuthor's Response: I know what you mean about writing about a characters death! It's incredibly difficult to get it right but I was surprised at how easily this story flowed from my brain! Thank you so much for your kind review! I really appreciate it! :)

Hey! Thanks again for thinking of me with this piece :)
I thought this was very sweet. I really liked how Severus's thoughts drifted from innocent childhood memories (like the sweater and Lily's nail polish) to his love for her and beyond that to the acceptance of his own death. I also love the ending, with him wanting to be as brave as she was (since we know that he's very brave in his own right) and thinking fondly of her as he died, achieving his state of heaven at last.
Wonderful job! :)

^keyboard spazm means I have no idea what to say except that this was just.
This is such lovely Snily that I just want to read it over and over! It was so beautifully written, and I think you grasped Severus' feelings during the final moments of his life so perfectly.
This line, Lily Evans. That's who she was to me, I couldn't think of her as Lily Potter - that hurt way to much. AND A man could dream couldn't he? just tugged at my heart.
To think what Severus risked all for his love for Lily... I just love this ship and I think you did such a beautiful job representing it. Beautiful work.Author's Response: I can't stop smiling right now! Seriously! You honestly just made my night! Thank you so much! I really don't even know what to say right now.. that's how incredibly happy you just made me!!! I wish I could favorite reviews because this has to be the best one ever! :) Report Review
Wow. That is so moving and touching. You are very detail oriented which makes for a great read. The story flows well with no real stops that threw me out of the story. I didn't see any grammatical or spelling errors either. Great job. Snape has always been my favorite character.
