Wow! It's really an awesome one-shot, perfect, yeah few spelling mistakes here and there, but that doesn't matter, because the story was so fantastic. I really liked it a bunch! Snape's my favorite, and such stories just keep my heart beating faster, make me cry. I loved this. Thanks for presenting such a fabulous work!

Keep writing... :)

This is a really well written piece from the mind of Snape.. I can't even begin to understand (nor really thought about) how Snape must've felt the whole time being a "double agent", and especially how he might have felt after Dumbledore's death. This was such a refreshing take on Snape being divided by two sides and the way you wrote this just made it all so realistic and believable.

I don't quite know how to explain it, but I think the way you portrayed Snape in this is quite different to how most people portray him. Especially that bit where Snape felt kind of "good" about Dumbledore's death because it was one step closer to the edge - I've never seen Snape written with these kind of feelings, but it's so believable and makes complete sense. A really well written one-shot :)

Wow! This was great! I think you were spot on with Snape's feelings. The combination of regret, relief, and who knows what else just seems perfect in this story. You manage to make him come alive in such a short time and fill us with a sense of his emotions over several decades, which is a powerful feeling. He's one of the most complex characters in the books and I think this one-shot sums up his emotions wonderfully.

I love the addition of Lily even though the story is more about Snape's masters. The few lines in which she's mentioned gives him a greater purpose than simply a servant of both Dumbledore and Voldemort.

And the things Dumbledore always told him were amazing. It almost twisted Dumbledore into the villain's role for a bit which is always quite interesting.

I think you did a wonderfully on this story! It was marvelous to read!

Author's Response: I think that out of all the reviews I've ever gotten, this is my favorite. This story was my baby and I was begining to think it was one only a mother could love. So, thank you so much!

Also, about Lily, I had to include her. I felt that she was the key to nearly everything about Severus' life. He became a death eater because of her rejection and joined Dumbledore to protect her. She is a lasting presence in his life.

I would also like to point out that I am very impressed. Not a lot of people would look past the surface of the story. They say 'aww, that's so sad' or 'awesome' and don't bother to consider the depth of the characters and their background. So, thank you for that as well.
