Review #1, by 800 words of heaven Why is it taking so long?

25th September 2015:
Heya! I'm finally here for our review swap! I'm so sorry for the delay. I'm also sorry for choosing this story, because it's so old so you may not want to think about it (because you hate it now I don't know). But I couldn't resist the title and summary. Poor Ron completely and utterly frazzled because AH CHILDBIRTH. Too cute. Impossible to stay away, really.

And you didn't disappoint! This was just as adorable and fluffy as I thought it would be and I'm sitting here grinning like a fool. Really made my night :) Ron's characterisation was just spot on. He's a first-time dad and he's so terrified because wow baby-birthing can be really long, but also he can't even see Hermione since he's been relegated to the waiting room. It's probably even worse, because everyone around him is so chill. The staff at St Mungo's are like "yeah, just another delivery" and both Harry and Ginny are like "it's cool. Everything will be fine. Been there. Done that."

(Also loved that pregnant Ginny was here, even for such a short time.)

This was just really wonderful and heartwarming and I really enjoyed it. Thanks for the lovely read :)

Author's Response: Hello!
I don't mind that you chose an older story to read! I actually really like this story, and forget to go back and look at it because I wrote it a while ago, so this gave me a nice chance to read it over again.
I'm so pleased that you liked the way I wrote Ron. I thought I was going to have a pretty difficult time with him, but it flowed a lot easier than I thought it would once I started writing. Harry and Ginny were really fun to have in there, to try and balance out Ron's freak outs. Haha.
Thank you for the lovely review!

Review #2, by oldershouldknowbetter Why is it taking so long?

20th July 2015:
Hi there, here for a bit of House Cup 2015 review action for Ravenclaw house.

Well, you know how much I love the next generation and especially Rose, so how wouldn't I like a story about her birth.

You really have captured the voices of everyone very well: Ron's Ron; Harry is Harry; tough Ginny is tough Ginny even though she is pregnant herself and the mother of the piece, Hermione has just gone through one of the toughest things she'll have to do in her whole life.

The story is just so sweet, it's lovely.

Though one thing it did do for me is to bring up in my mind just how I believe the whole thing would go. That's the thing about a missing moment: either an author want's to get it so right that it automatically becomes exactly what happens in their minds, or they want to provoke some thought and make the reader question their own ideas and assumptions. I'm fairly sure that it wasn't your specific intent with this tale, but it has done the latter for me. Having attended the births of three of my own children, it really brought into focus just how I think the birth would have gone.

So what you have done with this story is to give us something sweet and lovely, where the characters we love are at an important moment in their lives and to write it well. But extra to that it has provoked me to contemplate my stance on the subject and inspire me to want to write my own.

Thank you so much.

Author's Response: Hi Andrew!
I'm so glad you enjoyed this story! Especially since I know how much you love Rose.
It's so nice to hear that you thought all the characters in this fit with canon. Also I love that you remarked on Ginny being just as tough as always, even though she's really pregnant. Haha.
It's really, really cool that this inspired you to think more about how you might imagine this situation to go! Especially since you said you were there for the births of your own children. It really means a lot to me that my writing made you think about this moment, and that it inspired you.
Thank you so much for the wonderful review!

Hey Cassie!

House Cup 2015 Review - Ravenclaw

OH. MY. What are you trying to do to me with all this Ron melting?! I don't know if I can recover from the complete sugary sweetness of this story. You did such a great, great job with his character. I can just see him, all impatient and pacing in the waiting room and Harry and Ginny trying to keep him calm while the wait seemed indefinite. And then the scene with Hermione! Gah! I'm overcome with the feels. My heart is a puddle right now. The last line was priceless. I don't know how you managed to convey so, so much in such few words with this - but I could just feel all of Ron's love for both his wife and daughter in that last line. He was so proud of them and he was never a man of many words. I think you totally nailed it with this one. Great story!

♥ Beth

Author's Response: Hi Beth!
I'm so glad you liked the way I wrote Ron! I always picture him being a very fun, really amazing dad, so I had to write about that at some point! I had a lot of fun imaging how he would act when Hermione is giving birth to their first child, and I love having Harry and Ginny there to calm him down. I'm really pleased that you could tell how much Ron loved his family in this.
Thank you so much for the sweet review!

Review #4, by marauder5 Why is it taking so long?

15th April 2013:
This was so sweet! I can imagine Ron freaking out a little bit! ;) Also, I loved Harry and Ginny acting all cool about it, since they've gone through it once before. I'm not sure why Ron couldn't be in the room with Hermione, but perhaps he'd just pass out (that sounds like something Ron would do, doesn't it?)

Anyway, I really liked this story. I liked the fact that you kept it simple, because stories don't always need to be thousands of words long with overly-detailed descriptions. Although, I must admit, I wanted it to be a bit longer... I just want to know more! ;)

Author's Response: Hello! Thank you so much for this sweet review!
I'm so glad that you enjoyed this story! I thought of any of JKR's characters, Ron would be one to freak out when his wife is about to give birth. I think he's not in the room with Hermione because she knew he'd freak out and told him to go. She's really the tough one out of the pair! ;) I'm so pleased that you enjoyed this, and thank you again for the lovely review!

Review #5, by Santa Why is it taking so long?

27th December 2012:
Oh goodness, another lovely oneshot here! You've done this so beautifully as well: from capturing Ron's anxiety and anticipation to his relief and finally his amazement at seeing his new daughter for the first time. This is a very delicate piece of writing and I think you've gone into wonderful detail to show us Ron's shifting emotions. You've also painted a lovely portrait of a young family without being overly sentimental. I think your characterisation of Ron is pretty much spot-on, and Ginny as well.

"...I bet she's doing great. She was always tougher than you," Ginny said with a grin, lightly punching her brother on the arm.

Ginny is only a side character but you've written her so well in these few lines. Her characterisation is so precise and spot-on with canon.

And the lovely detail when you were describing baby Rose in ROn's arms! Lovely.

As always, wonderful work.

Author's Response: Hello!
I'm so glad you enjoyed this one-shot! I loved writing it, and could really picture Ron as a new father :) I'm so, so thrilled that you think he and Ginny are in canon! I'm so glad that you chose to review this one-shot!

Review #6, by Ron 4 Hermione Why is it taking so long?

2nd September 2012:
Loved this, I think you managed to get the characterisation spot on! Ron was great and I think his reaction to the situation was totally believable.
I've always wondered why she was called Rose and I like the idea that it was after one of Hermione's relatives.
Good job, short but sweet! :)

Author's Response: You thought I got Ron spot on? Wow, that means so much to me! He's kind of a handful, because JKR gives us so much about him, and I didn't want to mess him up! Thank you so much for this lovely review! It means a lot to me!

Hi. Just ran across your story. I love it.
When I first read the summary, I thought something had happened to Rose. I was so happy to see what it was really about. And I love it. So adorable!
Good job.

Author's Response: Thank you so much! I'm happy you stumbled across this one-shot, because it hasn't gotten a ton of reads since I first posted it a few months ago. I'm happy you enjoyed it!

Review #8, by luvdobby26 Why is it taking so long?

26th April 2012:
Aww so sweet!! I love one-shots-writing and reading them- especially ones that centre around mother and child or father and child relationships. They're my favourite ones to read and write, so I really enjoyed this one. It was very well written and I love the thought of Ron as a dad.
10/10 and an add to favourites! :)

Ps I was wandering if you could have a quick look at my one-shots. I have one mother/daughter relationship one but it's quite sad. All of mine are! But you've inspired me to write a happy parent/child one-shot now :D

Author's Response: Awww thank you! I love writing happy, cute little one-shots like this, because you get to see a moment in the character's life that is really relatable, and fun to read. I loved the idea of Ron as a dad as well, and could definitely picture him being really nervous, especially thinking of a baby! Thank you for the sweet review! It means so much that you took your time to do this!

19th March 2012:
Awww... I love romionie and it is absolutely adorable. The father-daughter relationship is so sweet already and it is all very accurate. Thanks for suggesting them XD

Author's Response: Thank you! I love the idea of Ron as a father, because he seems like the kind of person that wouldn't really know how to handle a baby, especially a little girl, but it adorable when he tries it. Thanks again! Your support is awesome!

*Hugs you*

So cute, so cute! I can completely picture poor Ron sitting and waiting for the moment to be over and that ending was so wonderful! Ah...so cute. I have never done a one-shot before but I think I'm inspired! Anyway, so sorry for the delay on my stories that you've been reading, validation is taking forever but I think a fresh chapter for "A Force of Wills" should be up by tomorrow, I don't know.
Moving on, I can't wait to get caught up on "Love Me Tender" and I'll be waiting when you update again!
Much love,

Author's Response: Thank you so much! I had a lot of fun writing this, and I'm glad that you enjoyed it! I needed to write something lighter than Love Me Tender, and this seemed like the perfect way to take a break from it. Thank you again for all of these amazing reviews!
