Oh wow.. this was pretty deep, I really enjoyed reading this. I must admit this really gave me a new insight into Merope - she really does care for her baby Tom like most mothers do. The way you portrayed her made her seem just like any other mum even though she is still an outcast. It's almost so sad how she didn't live to see her son.. and she didn't get to live the life she envisioned for herself.

I really like how you characterised Merope and the writing in this was just great. The one thing I thought could have been emphasised more strongly was Merope's feelings for Tom Riddle (the muggle she liked) - when you said "We depend on nobody" I found that quite surprising since I thought she would have more been heartbroken about Tom. Regardless, this is a great one-shot that really depicts Merope in a very different light. :)

Author's Response: Yes, I see what you mean. I was trying to go for the kind of 'everyone-thought-I-was-nothing-but-I-am' persona lol. I honestly don't know if she was a braver person in the end. Anyway, thanks for reading it XD
