I really liked this! It's always nice when the minor characters are written about and given their own stories and I don't even remember Orla (although I did just check GoF and found her).

Anyway, I love the character of Reuben. We only get a 13 year old's view of him so I'm not sure if she's right or if her mother's right. It does seem selfish that she doesn't love him, but is there something wrong with him? Or did she imagine it because he's a squib?

Anyway, I'm looking forward to more! I can't wait to see where you go with this!

Hehe, yeah, I really like sticking to canon, and in a way there is so much scope with the characters only mentioned in passing. I'm hopefully going to really settle into this story too and get to know Orla all the more :)

I really wanted Orla to be picky and quite rude about not liking Reuben because of the fact he is a squib. Kind of like wizarding prejudice I guess. Yeah, like you said, we do only have a young teens view of both of them, so she's not open-minded or anything. She's just kind of like, ugh yuck boys go away! And I really wanted her to be kinda teenagery and rebellious and really wanting to be independent. :)
