That was exciting! Well now! I loved how the dragons acted and such, it seemed how they would act in my head! Also, I loved Charlie's characterization! I'll have the results out hopefully soon. :)
Oh and I liked the beginning and how it all tied together!

Thanks for entering!

Mike.

Author's Response: Really glad you liked it! Thank you so much for reviewing!

This was really great! I thought the beginning was very sweet, about the kids reactions to a funeral.

I loved all the detal in this about the dragons first, and about Charlie dying; it was very beautiful. It really shows how much time and effort you put into this, so great job! Wendy's character was really sweet, It's nice to read about a love interest for Charlie, I don't see too many of those.

Great job! 10/10

Author's Response: Aww, thank you so much! I had originally believed that this would be a quick and easy one-shot, but alas it wasn't. So I'm really glad to hear that it was worth the trouble and near scrapping. Thank you! :D

So I am reviewing for the 'In the Moment of Death Challenge'. I have to agree with you that it was written more for the 'Absolute Death Challenge' than my own. There was very little of what was running through his mind as he died. He didn't seem to express any obvious regrets or have and realizations. Thanks for entering my competition though. I enjoyed your story, but it was not really meant for my challenge. Thanks!

Author's Response: Sorry it wasn't exactly to the specifications of the challenge.

Hey! Thanks for the swap :) I'm sorry it took me a little while to get over here. School is already eating my soul on Day One!

So this is both a very morbid and very interesting look at Charlie's life and death. I really like your description and detail regarding Charlie's everyday duties at the dragon paddock. His job is kept pretty mysterious in canon, and since he's not usually written about in fanfiction, it's kind of neat to wonder what a typical day in his life must be like.

I think Charlie dying because of a dragon is pretty realistic, and you've treated the subject well. It must have been difficult to write that death, so you should commend yourself for successfully pulling it off. I really like how Charlie didn't want them to kill the dragon, even with the knowledge that it had caused his demise. It's a simple but elegant expression of his character. If I had anything to add, it would be to explain just a little more why Charlie made his "fatal mistake" and what his thought process was like. Being a seasoned dragon handler, it surely wasn't an easy decision for him.

Nice job! :)

Amanda

Author's Response: That's cool! I don't know why but the stories about people dying or the dead are somehow easier for me to write, despite absolute fear of any thing close to dead. I definitely do want to go through and edit it again. Thank you so much for this review, it's worth a hundred. :D
