This was really fantastic and just so interesting! I wasn't really sure who or what was happening at first, but I was quickly drawn in by your beautiful writing :) I thought it would be like a love story, so it was a surprise to see it end the way it did. I'm sorry if this is obvious, but I seem to have missed it: how does this relate to HP? :P To me, it seems like it could definitely stand alone as an OF piece as well.

Anyway, I loved all the emotions, feelings and thoughts that you conveyed. The words and sentences you chose just made it so powerful.. and it's definitely very different to a lot of other stories. Really lovely writing :)

Author's Response: It's not obvious - it actually never struck me till you just mentioned it XD I suppose you're right, though! Thank you so much for the lovely words

I've wanted to check out your work for a while now, so naturally I pick the night before my last final to do so. BUT ANYWAY, I saw that Susan reviewed this and was flaily and anything that leaves Susan flaily is clearly something worth procrastination and holy wow. I didn't really think that much of the beginning because it's something I've seen time and time again, characterizations and style and all that; not that it was bad, just nothing mindblowing. And then, and I don't know how you did it, but holy wow, it was just... intoxicating and kind of dizzying. So much depth! With these sorts of fics it's the emotion that counts, and so often it doesn't really resonate with me because, again, it's something that I've seen done for ages, but it really hit me with this one and I don't know what it is exactly, but it did and argh! (I'm sorry for rambling btw, I am incapable of anything but verbose rambling.) Again, I can't really put my finger on what it was, precisely, but lines like "Words like knives, but eyes gazing deep, enduring with sick pleasure every jeer" were sheer luminous syntactical gold, and it is so rare to find inventive/atypical syntax in fanfic so that made my inner language nerd ecstatic. And the ending was, like, weirdly cathartic and heartbreaking all the same, so :( but :') at the same time. (You know you're not entirely in your right mind when you can't explain things without the use of smilies.)

I don't really read fic as much as I used to anymore, and God forbid I ever actually review something, but I'm really glad you wrote this and that I read it. I can't quite put my finger on what it is, but this was really spectacular and compelling and emotional and all those things I want to find in fic, and I'm glad to have finally read your work and hope to more in the future~ when I'm not supposed to be studying. Cough.

Author's Response: Ooh, thanks so much! I honestly appreciate it, and considering the fact that I didn't give the plot as much thought as I should have (I would say as much as I "normally do" but that's not much at all, is it?), it really means tons that it worked out alright and that people have enjoyed reading it. Thank you very much Gubby, and I hope your fanfic reading doesn't come in the way of you prospering in your exams - the way they clearly did mine .__. Also why is that line getting so many mentions (okay, two) I DON'T SEE THE MAGIC OF IT AT ALL in fact I've forgotten what I was thinking of when I put that in place lol. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Now I think I can see why this story has no reviews: it's so amazing that it's left everyone speechless. I've been sitting here for a few minutes trying to think of right thing to say, and it's still not coming. All the same, I'll just throw out some words and hope they'll do the trick.

Amazing, brilliant, gorgeous, powerful... *flails* Oh my god how did you do this?!

It's the kind of story that grows on the reader as they continue on. It was girl meets girl at the beginning, but then things became so complicated and the depth increased to an incredible amount, building wonderfully to that heart-wrenching conclusion. The way that you slowly built up the language and emotion, drawing the reader in (literally - I kept leaning closer to the screen throughout :P) until finally the end releases us.

The figurative language also stood out with genius phrases such as "coffee tasting of tears" and "Rooms overflowing with banter, till ones hearts and throats are chafed. Words like knives, but eyes gazing deep, enduring with sick pleasure every jeer." So you make prefect graphics, then you come up with things like this too?! *cries* Your talent never ends!

So instead of just stalking your gallery, now I can stalk your author page and happily attack your stories with squeeful reviews. *evil grin* This story is amazing, Meghna, and I'm looking forward to reading more of what you've posted here. ^_^

Author's Response: I don't think I have the words to even respond to this. And to think I was so close to deleting this story. The writing is completely different from what I normally do and I honestly don't remember how miserable I was feeling when I wrote this but welp obviously it was worth the angst for an amazing review like that. I honestly don't even know what to say I THOUGHT I WAS GOING OVERBOARD WITH EVERYTHING and at one point I just wanted to be like ~shut up Meghna, you're not Edgar Allan Poe oh God but thank you so much Susan, you're ridiculously nice for saying those wonderful things I feel kind of unworthy of at the moment. ATTACK ALL THE STORIES lol actually don't read any of them I'm going to die of shame XD
