10/10!!! Your stories need more recognition! You write really good one-shots. They always contain a good plot and the setting and the way you portrayed the characters in this story was great. I don't know much about Vienna, but it seems like a very 'Dumbeldore-ish' place :)
The way you portrayed Gellert and Albus was great, the dialogue was perfect. I liked the conversation between them, it was very intelligent and strong. The way you mentioned their past, their relationship, the little thing about the Elder wand and the talk about the muggles, the pre-war world and how Albus was trying to convince Gellert about the muggles.you fit so much into a one-shot so incredibly!
I really feel for Albus now, it must've been so hard defeating Gellert because he loved him. Report Review
I've seen you around at TGS and on the forums, and so I wanted to take a look at your stories, only to find that they were seriously neglected! It's most unfair, seeing that, from what you have in this story, you're a really good writer and definitely deserving of more attention.
This story was fantastic, both in its setting and the way that it captures this complicated, tense moment between Dumbledore and Grindelwald. Vienna is my favourite city and your portrayal of it was spot on, especially in regard to the food and the cafe culture. I can see Vienna as a place that would draw Dumbledore with its colour and beauty, not to mention its wonderful sweets. ;) It was interesting to see how out of place Grindelwald was - you wonderfully conveyed the feeling of his unease and disdain in the Muggle cafe, then contrasted that with the way he uses Dumbledore's feelings against him. Your portrayal of Grindlewald came across with all the energy and reckless power that we only got a hint of within the books. It was fantastic to see him depicted so well.
There's so much more to say about Dumbledore, but I shouldn't ramble on for too long. Suffice to say that I enjoyed this unique snapshot of the pre-War wizarding world and the very strange relationship between these two wizards. I wish that more writers would take up the challenges that relationship offers. You, however, have portrayed it and both characters excellently, and I look forward to reading more of your work. ^_^Author's Response: Thank you so much for your kind review! Dumbledore is such an amazing character, he's that mysterious wizard that we only know little of and it was a huge task trying to write him - so I'm extremely happy to hear that you like it. I'm also glad that you think I portrayed Vienna well. I haven't been there yet, so I had to rely on what I had heard of it and what my friends who had been to visit could tell me.

Hello! It's Laura from TGS! I thought I'd stop by and have a read of one of your stories!
I picked this one because just from the banner and summary it sounded magical, a little bit romantic, but really really interesting, too! I wasn't disappointed (: I love the way you've written Dumbledore, because hes a really complicated character and has this whole spectrum of secrets and untold tales. Sometimes in fics on this site, Dumbledore is just a wise man to throw in the fic for some oomph, but I adore how you've given him purpose in this. He deserves purpose. Though as a character in the series he has a LOT of flaws a little story like this justifies him a little. And, with Gellert, too...its such a complex relationship, one I think you're beginning to tackle very well.
Lovely! :) L xAuthor's Response: Hello Laura,
thank you so much for your nice review! I'm so glad you think that I got Dumbledore well. I wanted to write a story about him for ages but never really knew where to start. He's still such a mystery to me and it makes me very happy to hear that you liked him here.
Thank you! :)

“How many have you loved since me?”
Loved that line. For some reason I feel like Vienna and Dumbledore's love for Gellert are quite similar. In Vienna the old ways are still there, obvious, but there's also progress. Modernism. They're trying out new things. Just as Albus still loves Gellert, like in the old days, but something in that love has changed, is new, has progressed and morphed into something completely different.
Really, you did great with your location. And also, you finished it so fast! I enjoyed reading it. 10/10Author's Response: Thank you so much for the nice review! I'm so glad you like it. And here I was, feeling that I had taken ages to complete it. :P Report Review
