Another brilliant chapter!

I love how casually you introduce your characters and their backgrounds. It takes talent to keep the reader's interest while still being informative.

I really hope Andre and Jarlan meet one day.

Author's Response: Thanks Chemical_Pixie! And it would be pretty awesome to write a scene where those two finally meet. I have a feeling there would be some blood involved.

Fantastic start!

Isabella's character already resonates off the pages (well, computer screen, but you get what I mean). The plot lines you present keep me excited. What's with Jarlan? Not sure if I'm a fan (though, as a character, he's brilliant).

I really like the ending of this chapter with the question of how to measure loss. Even though it could be a philosopher's nightmare, you bring up a really good point, and I can't wait to see what you do with this.
