Review #1, by shoveitsunshine Disappearing Act

3rd June 2012:
I adore this. Regulus is such an underrated character, and I felt that you really did him justice. The flow of the writing was very good, and I liked the section where he described Sirius. And it's sad, because all Regulus wanted to be was remembered for something, and I liked the way you described it as he "didn't mean to die, not really".

Author's Response: Oh, thank you! I agree - he has so much potential and I don't think he is written about nearly enough. I'm very flattered you thought I did him justice as I think he can be rather difficult to write, as his motives and character are never made completely clear in canon. Thanks again!

Review #2, by Roots in Water Disappearing Act

13th July 2011:
First of all, I just wanted to say that your summary sounds fantastic. Really eye-catching. Now onto the actual story...

This is another great story. I especially loved the beginning, with the comparison between Regulus and the rest of his younger family. It's so sad that Regulus was never good enough. I feel that this sentence: "Only when he tried the shoes on did he realise they were three sizes too big." It really sums up Regulus' feelings.

I think this was a realistic take on why Regulus would quit the Death Eaters. It was a horrible (brilliant) image of him washing the blood of his enemies (and really his friends that he led to their deaths) off his hands. Great imagery.

Once again you've created a fantastic story. I really enjoyed reading this.

Author's Response: Oh, thank you - I've got to admit I'm rather proud of this summary! I just think it looks rather pretty. Doesn't actually tell you anything about the story, of course, but never mind, looks are far more important, obviously.

I'm so glad you enjoyed this too. I'm not a huge fan of marauder-era stuff, but I've always found Regulus very interesting. I like portraying him as the inferior Black - I always get the impression that Sirius feels much more like the 'favourite': he chose to reject his family, rather than the other way around.

I really struggled with that bit, trying to find a reason that was a little bit different, so I'm especially glad you liked that. Thanks so much for another brilliant review! Honestly, you're spoiling me :P

Review #3, by princessrapunzel Disappearing Act

26th April 2011:
I've started stalking you, reading all your stories, and I'm not ashamed of it. I'm a little embarrassed about admitting it, yeah, haha, but not at all about actually doing it. Especially not after reading this - and even more so considering I wasn't going to. I was going to go do something else, something 'productive' with my day off from school - which I do not regret not doing, not after reading this.

I have never actually read a Regulus oneshot/story - well no, actually, that's a lie. I have, but it was so awful that I didn't finish it and don't reckon it counts. He was dating Lily Evans secretly and it was just - awful. But I won't go into it, I didn't decide to leave a review to ramble on about some story I read months ago and laughed about for about a week non-stop. Haha. I'll rephrase it - I have never read a decent Regulus Black story, one which explores his mind and his reasoning behind what he did in regard to becoming a Death Eater/removing the locket.

Which is what you have done perfectly. I mean it when I say that this is amazing, and that his character has so much depth it's completely fascinating. I adore the way that it is in sections, as though it is his ponderings, and the line 'He prayed and he prayed and he prayed that she would care.' just killed me. Poor Regulus, I felt so sorry for him, he's just crying out for someone to give him a hug. Haha.

And the last two sections - sections sounds better than 'bits', I suppose - were just pure brilliance. So haunting, but touching too.

You should be really proud of this, love. It is amazing. It is wonderfully written and you have captured Regulus excellently. It is, of course, favourited and an absolute ten out of ten.

Allie x.

Author's Response: Oh don't worry, oddly enough I don't mind xP Is it weird to say I'm rather excited to have a stalker? Probably.

Pfff productive days are overrated. I'm meant to be revising for some rather important exams, but I spend most of my time on here. Oh well.

Aww I'm very proud to have written your first decent Regulus story! I feel he's quite an unexplored character - there are a fair few stories about him, but shipping him with an OC in an angst-ridden romance isn't quite the same thing. I always feel this is a shame because he has so much potential - we don't know much about him from canon, but what we do know about him is so interesting and contradictory.

Hahaha aww he really does just need a hug, that solves all of life's problems! Feel free to give him one ;)

Thanks so much, Allie! Your reviews are just gorgeous, and nice and ego-boosting :P

Review #4, by Snapdragons Disappearing Act

2nd April 2011:
Very well written, good job! I'm in love with the style you used, with the parentheses. It worked very well! :) The story of how Regulus slowly turned into a Death Eater and his last moments were so well done.

I felt like I could understand Regulus here, worrying that he'll be forgotten, hoping that those last words would haunt Voldemort. Some sort of recognition. "Regulus was going to do this because it would make him a legend."

I loved this and though you did a wonderful job!

Author's Response: Thanks so much! I'm really very flattered you liked this as I loved your 'The Sins of the Father', it was was brilliant!

I'm glad you liked the reasons I gave for Regulus' actions - I really struggled with that and it took me ages to work out what direction I wanted to go in.

Thanks so much for the review! I'm so glad you enjoyed it :)
