This chapter was really nice :) I just wish it was longer though. I'm kinda shocked at the thought that Godric and Rowena might have had a relationship. But at the same time, it seems really possible. But when I read the books, I've only ever seen the four founders as best friends with complex relationships. Still a good chapter though. :)

It's a great and very possible beginning of Salazar Slytherin's story and his hatred for muggles. It's a nice start and I can tell that it's gonna be good. Keep writing :)

ugh, founders is so under-appreciated. i love how you've got this background for why salazar hates muggles so much.

This is great! I've always wondered why some wizards - *cough* Slytherins! *cough* - hated the Muggles so much, and this all makes perfect sense! Great work :D

Keep up the good work, I can't wait for another chapter, if there is one! It's so interesting to see someone do a fan fiction from before Harry, Ron and Hermionie were even alive, before Hogwarts even!

Solid follow-up to chapter 1 and, as usual, great writing. The story thus far is well-paced and very engaging. I'm interested in knowing how young Salazar got along on his own for the last six years, especially without a wand. I suspect to survive he had to associate himself in some manner with muggles and their bizarre idiosyncrasies, further fueling his hatred (as if the burning of his mother wasn't enough). This could be a short story in itself.

Nice work! I look forward to reading the next installment.

I guess this answers my question (in a different review) wether any of your stories are written in the third person. As a history nut, I love your angle with this story. I like the way you handled Mildred's inability to use magic to extract her and Salazar from the sticky siutation (or shoud I say "Fiery" situation) by the misplacing of her wand.

I think it is safe to assume that Mildred was not an especially gifted witch, as she clearly did not believe she would be able to Disapparate (using Side-Along Apparition to bring her son along) without the use of her wand. Then again, it's quite possible that her emotional state at the time (fear for her life and that of her child) inhibited her ability to use the magic at all, especially without aid of her wand. It might have been interesting to add a brief scene of Mildred trying to desperately escape through Disapparition only to find that she is unable to do so. At that point, she then becomes resolute to her only reality--sacrificing herself to save her precious son.

Great start to what I think will be a very interesting story. Now off to Chapter 2...

Hello!
I just wanted to let you know that you are my favourite writer on this website, and that you may have even inspired me to write my own fanfiction(someday). I have read Delicate and Still Delicate(eagerly awaiting the next chapter by the way!) and I was drawn in by both story lines, you really have great ideas and are very skilled at portraying your characters. I literally couldn't stop reading them! I was up till one or two in the morning for many nights in a row.
Anyway, I realise this is meant to be reviewing Duplicity, not Delicate, so I will get on with it.
I'm really enjoying this story so far, I had never really thought about the relationships between the founders of Hogwarts and so I was sucked into another one of your fanfics by your fantastic ideas! I think the idea of tension between the muggle and magical communities caused by witch burnings makes a lot of sense and works really well within the world of Harry Potter. I can't wait to read more :)
