Review #1, by Jaded94 Midnight's Children

2nd September 2010:
So my laptop died and i have just played catch up and read from chapter 16 to here and i have got to say I am addicted. In a way your story is kind of old world-y with the manor houses etc but thats what i love, it reminds me of a harry potter version of pride and prejudiced. Overall a great story that im very interested in seeing where it goes x

Author's Response: Wow a Harry Potter pride and Prejudice! Thank you so much - I have to admit I do love period novels so a lot of that is probably my own self-indulgence, but I also like the fact that JKR managed to give us a glimpse of the wizarding equivalent by showing us Malfoy Manor and stuff which sort of sparked the whole thing off! Thanks for reviewing!

Review #3, by loseristhien Midnight's Children

30th August 2010:
fantastic chapter. i love how this story is turning from drama to full fledged mystery and murder. i continue to love your characterization of pansy and i sincerely enjoyed the insight to silvius. keep up the good work!

Author's Response: I'm glad the transition from drama to mystery is good - Its been the plan all along but I was a little worried about it! I am very fond of Silvius so this chapter was a little self-indulgent! Still, some insight is a good thing because there's more of him to come!

Wow! I didn't see that coming! It was great how you built up the suspense to when Pansy heard everything! Just amazing, it was so tense!

Author's Response: Yay! glad you thought that scene was good-it was tricky to write! Thanks fo reviewing!

So I've just spent the better half of my day reading this story. None stop. From beginning till end.

Wow.

That's the only word that I seem to be able to describe my reaction to finally reaching this chapter! You are an amazing author, and your characters are so fascinating - everyone is dark, twisted, and dynamic in their own ways. I absolutely love it! I will be zealously waiting for the next chapter!!

A definite 10/10!

Author's Response: Well thank you very much! I have just posted the next chapter so enjoy!

Review #9, by Adelheid The Return of the Native

30th June 2010:
I love this chapter. It is perhaps my favorite so far! The awkward discussion between Nott and Draco flowed perfectly. I am anxious to see Nott begin to reveal some of his feelings. You are planning a girl for Nott right?

Of everything though, I must say that the Julius/Astoria encounter was the most...subtly revealing, the dialogue was natural, and for some reason, Julius did not appear creepy, just nostalgic and lost.

Two requests (pretty please :)). Gareth and Pansy need to be axed...asap. I do however understand that this story ought to last. Pansy's final seduction was terribly well done and thus terribly annoying! And please, more Astoria/Draco. She's back at last...bring on the chemistry.

As always, your writing is captivating, and I await more. May your writing be swift and unhindered.

~Adelheid

Author's Response: Thanks for the review!

I'm glad the Draco/Nott scene was ok I was a bit scared that they were revealing a bit too much to each other which would be a teensy bit out of character! Is there going to be a girl for Nott?...Well yes but some people aren't going to like it ...

Yes big plans for Julius...Now Astoria's at home I'm planning to write a bit more about the family rather than the fragmented scenes we've had up until now.

Just axed Gareth didn't I? He was the ex-boyfried at the station. So yeah thats it from him (as Astoria's boyfriend anyway) I thought about including the breakup scene but it always seemed a bit clumsy so at the station Gareth's already been dumped and Astoria's excuse is that he's leaving school so they won't see each other again. Pansy...don't hate me but she's going to be around a little longer but is going to find herself more and more sidelined because Astoria and Draco can now spend time together (FINALLY!) Plus I want Pansy to go with a bit of a bang...I think in a weird way she deserves it! ;)

So yeah long reply but I hope that clears a few things up! Thanks again for the review!

Review #10, by WonderlustQueen Hard Times

25th June 2010:
How refreshing it is, to read good writing on this site for once! I applaud you, with the utmost sincerity, madame. I was impressed with your abilities as early as the first paragraph, "...the deafening noise of nothing." was a line that stood out to me. I really do believe it to be quite beautiful... and very poetic. Oh, I do enjoy a good oxymoron now and again, but I'm just nerdy in that manner.

Very vivid descriptions, too, which is simply wonderful. Nothing like a talented writer who can place the reader directly into their vision, and paint such a detailed picture!

"Astoria had only been allowed wine... She drank anyway." is also a striking aspect of your style of writing. It is very relate-able, makes the characters realistic, and brings them to life!

However, I suggest you don't echo words too often, because it doesn't seem to be intended for effect. It's just a bit dull to read the same word two sentences in a row, but this is just my opinion.

You are exactly the person who I would love to have critique my writing, so if you ever have time... *wink wink nudge nudge*

Author's Response: Thanks so much for your review! Your advice is great and I really appreciate it especially as I'm trying to improve my writing style at the moment. Anywho this review made my day so thanks very much!

Review #14, by presi Scoop

10th May 2010:
ummm im not sure what to think. i half like her and half not. though i understand where she is coming form, protecting those whom you love is the most important thing in life. i like her encounter with Draco served as HUGE hint of things to come. im looking forward to see how all this plays along and of cores to see how Draco and Astoria interact and come to be weed. i do hope nothing happens to Daphne, once again im uncertain of her love affair, half of me wants her to run with the muggle the other wants her to fall for Nott... umm this story only gets better.
Hope next update is sooner!

MEL

Author's Response: Yeah I enjoy writing Astoria but I would not want to be her best friend! The Daphne/ben/nott thing is already decided in my head so I really hope it doesn't disappoint. Sorry about the late update - school, exams lots of excuses! Thank you so much for reviewing!

I really like this chapter, even if it is just a filler. But I think it's time to get rid of Gareth. He just hinders the plot.

Anyway, as I said, great chapter!

Eagerly awaiting the next,
Angelpris

Author's Response: Aww Gareth -hindering the plot is kinda his job or at least hindering Astoria but obviously he's not going to be around forever - I cant imagine him, Astoria and Draco shacking up can you? :) Thanks for the review and the advice!

aw ok this story is amazing!! im in love with it! i have just finished reading it and though im angry that u left us wondering on what is going to happen next, im glad she is going to tell Ben everything. I think is time, and i also hope they stay together. I also love the weird yet sweet relationship Draco and Astroria have. the connection and how at ease they are with each other shows for sure how comparable they are! I feel for Nott, but then again he was an idiot. I cant wait to see the rest of secrets that im sure are going to keep disturbing the family! So many secrets are never ever healthy.
Cant wait for the next update which i hope is going to be very very soon!

MEL

Author's Response: Thanks for the reviews! Hey I dont do many cliff hangers but I think the story needed that one ;) Yes secrets secrets... hopefully they'll be pretty fun to unravel!
