Harry's Saving People Thing rides again. This is very good, I like how you depicted the emotions of each of them in these scenes. Your characterizations are excellent and truly fitting and it accomplishes the goal of taking me back to the emotional rollercoaster that was the Battle of Hogwarts. I was particularly impressed with Voldemort's part. This would be a man who sees real fear as weakness and would have to make excuses to himself for how he felt. Oh he'd rationalize it, of course, but he'd fail utterly to recognize what he truly felt. Hermione and Ron are also very well written, almost as though they've sprung from the pages of the book. Its great that neither of them knows how to approach the other, the problem that plagued them for so long couldn't be cured by one kiss. Harry. Probably the hardest one to write because its all been said. He's depicted well though, and actually covers a bit of new ground. I always figured that his surrender had to bug him in the hardest way. He's just not a quitter. Overall very good story and an enjoyable read.Author's Response: Harry has always been... not annoying, because I really do love him. How can someone call themselves a HP fan and not love him? But let's face it, sometimes Harry is a moron, and I had a hard time writing this because it was difficult for me to go through the rationalization behind his actions. I'm glad to hear that it came out in a fresh way, compared to the original! Should I admit that Voldemort's part was the easiest for me to write? It really was. His arrogance and everything, it creates such a perfect picture of him and why he never succeeded. Ron and Hermione. They are so often portrayed as very flat characters, but we know, from the books, that there is so much more going on there. I'm so flattered that they seem to match canon so well. I always shy away from characters like these because of all that we already know about them I'm so glad you enjoyed this and thank you for your kind review! Annie Report Review
Okay, so I must say that I don't think I have ever read anything quite like this before. And I absolutely mean that in a good way. My mind was completely blown by the way you wrote Voldemort. It was so evil...and...Voldemortish. You characterized him perfectly. I loved how you wrote this. I always wonder what was going through other characters' minds during the Final Battle, and I think you summed it up nicely. I especially liked how you wrote Harry thinking about the whole "fight or flight" thing. I dunno why I liked it so much; I guess because it just fits with Harry's character. Anyways, I really did love this one-shot. Absolutely ah-mazing! ~KristenAuthor's Response: I kind of freaked myself out with the whole Voldemort section, if I'm being really honest. It came really easily to me and I hardly had to edit a thing. Harry, on the other hand, drove me completely mad and I had to tear it to pieces before I was willing to put it in the final version. Ron and Hermione I write concurrently, and I feel like that really shows. I happy you liked this and thanks so much for taking the time to review! Annie Report Review
Okay, now I'm a little freaked out. Especially with Voldemort's piece. The whole "I'm going to kill everyone so I can take over the world and never be scared of anyone again (even though I'm NOT afraid of Potter, alright?)" bit was just a BIT creepy/freaky. But awesome and wonderfully written all the same. ;) BUT I kept reading, all the same, because being freaked out isn't enough to stop me, and besides, I wanted to see what else there was to say on the subject of fear. :) And might I say that right now, I'm seriously considering setting up a stalker tent around your HPFF account, because your representations of Hermione, Ron, and Harry were just WONDERFUL, and I am insanely jealous of your talent of getting inside their heads. :P I especially liked Ron's reaction-- from what we saw of him in DH, he does seem like the type to get mad and lash out when frightened. Kind of like a dog, now that I think of it. (Not that Ron's a dog or anything... :P ) My favorite line from Ron (and actually from this whole fic) is, "But he was too busy thinking that, if he had his way, he would never watch anyone he cared about die ever again." It just seems to sum up what everyone HAD to have been thinking right then. That no one, not NO ONE, that they were even remotely civil to would ever die again. Once again, I wanted to go up and give a character a hug-- this time Ron, just because of his little piece. I can't help it. Besides, hugs are good. :D Merry Christmas!Author's Response: It was kind of frightening how easily I was able to get into Voldemort's headspace when I was writing this, haha. It is so great to hear that you thought I write Ron, Harry and Hermione well! Main characters like that kind of terrify me. I'm glad you enjoyed this and thanks so much for your review! Tehe, I'm here for Round 8 of the review exchage on TGS:) This is SO amazing. The Forest Again, was my absolute favorite chapter of any of the Harry Potter series. This is amazing, I love that It's not just talking about Harry. It has Hermione, Ron, Voldemort, and Harry. The way you portray the emotions all of them are feeling is phenominal. I for one am a sucker for the way emotions are showed. I dont even know how to explain it. Just things like, "The icy rage emanating from his insides," or "His lungs seized up with fear for her." it just gives such a vivide picture in my mind and it really makes me feel what the character is feeling. You truly have a way with words that I just love:) I am so glad I was paired with you, this is just amazing. I cant even tell you how many times I have read the chapter The Forest Again, after Harry saw Snapes memorys. I love it. You have done a fantastic job on this:) "Death was such an inconvenience. One that only lesser men had to deal with." for Voldemort that was just spot on. I mean that is definatly something I can imagine Voldemort saying. It was dont perfecto;D Definatly 10/10! Hermione MalfoyAuthor's Response: I'm so happy you enjoyed this! I appologize again for my tardiness in reviewing your story, Europe has eaten my life (not an entirely unpleasant thing to have happen to you, haha). I'm also glad you liked the way I tried to show each person's emotions. All the characters are so different and I wanted that to be apparent. Thanks again for your review! Ella Report Review
Amazing. Seriously, seriously incredible. All the characters were wonderfully written, and the depth of emotion was fantastic, as well. 10/10.Author's Response: *does a slightly embarrassing happy dance* I was so worried that people would think that the trio was OOC or something. I'm not very good at writing them, in my opinion. I'm so flattered! Thanks for taking the time to review! Ella Report Review
Aww :'( this was so well written *sniff* OK I am not crying but I feel like I should yet I can't still though, a wonderful story. I will have to check out more of your works.Author's Response: Oh yay! I'm so glad you liked this. I'm not much of a crier so I understand your problem, haha. Thanks for taking the time to review!
