Review #1, by SereneChaos The Importance Of Dandelions

Ahhh!!! So sweet! I love the subtle way you wrapped up this piece! Helga and Salazar work very well off of each other here, and I enjoyed your youthful version of Helga opposed to a droll (he reminded me a lot of Snape, in this actually) Salazar.

While I think that sometimes its good to have a little more detail to flesh out stories, I think what you have here worked very well. While its mostly dialogue, and very little setting/description, you did such a good job showing exactly what was going on based on WHAT the characters were saying. It takes skill to do that, so good job! I liked the little inclusion of Salazar's blood prejudice here as well, and it was especially nice to read it as a passing comment as opposed to the usual rebuke Salazar gets in stories for having it. Their speech is spot on, though, I think the occasional "he said/she said" at the end of some of the lines would be helpful in orienting readers, just in case the flow gets a little lost.

Otherwise though, what a lovely, fluffy little story! Thanks for writing it!

Review #3, by L J Conks The Importance Of Dandelions

26th May 2008:
Alas, I don't even know what to say, except that I'm feeling inexplicably giddy from that read! Great praises, first of all, are in order for your contributions to the lacklustre and dismally meagre collection of founderfic on this site; there's little enough of it on HPFF, and I find great cause for celebration when I discover one that does not center itself on the subject of Hogwarts' foundation and the treachery of Slytherin.

I will admit, I have not read a Salazar/Helga before. I'm a devout shipper of Salazar/Godric, from every possible angle and characterization of them - but, I find myself quite happily drawn to the potention connection between Helga and Salazar. Really, all of them are such delightful characters to give shape to; while yours keep firm ties to what little canon information there is of them, the Helga and Salazar you've spun take on a life of their own. Helga is adorable, and perfect for your Salazar. Even Rowena and Godric, absent from the main action itself, took great character. I tremendously enjoyed the dandelion custom as well, which I've never before heard of - but I already feel the great desire to allude to it in some future writing.

Thank you for sharing! :]

Author's Response: Thank you so much! I know what you mean about foundersfic - there's a little more on, but still NOT ENOUGH, and I am really sick of 'Rowena did the library, Helga did the Room of Requirement, Godric did the Great Hall, Salazar snuck off to build the Chamber, something was attacking the students, Salazar and Godric fought...'
I may be getting carried away here...
Yes, I ship Salazar/Godric, too. A lot. (If you don't mind blatent self-endorsement, you could always check out my fic The Fall - or Unexpected, but that's only on And I ship Salazar/Helga.
And Godric/Rowena, Godric/Helga, Salazar/Rowena, and, yes, Helga/Rowena.
Quite a list. Thank you very much for your lavish praise - I can practically feel my head expanding.
Yay! Virtual hugsfor you!
(And thanks for leaving a long review... for some reason I leave long replies to the long reviews... Hmm... *ponders*)
