Review #1, by Jessi_Rose Win One for the Reaper

Chelsea! This was beautiful!! You've portrayed Sirius perfectly - I mean... dauntingly (lol) perfectly. And Bella as well! Just as crazy and maniacal as I'd picture her to. Especially with regards to family that didn't choose to follow Voldemort's path. The end was amazing as well - with Sirius' final words... They may not mean much to Bella at all, but it really says something about Sirius and his character and his loyalty to the Order side of things. I just love the relationship you've played with and how accurately you've portrayed it. I'm in awe of your skills, dear. Loved it!!

Author's Response: Thanks so much Jessi! LOVE YOU!

How hauntingly beautiful! Your sentence structure - especially the use of short, effective sentences - and vocabulary only enhance the story. I love the capitalization (Cause, Kissed) and of course the parallel of giving up one piece to win the game. The mixture of banter and description was just great and I really feel like you have the characters not only under your control, but also completely of their own. Wonderful.

Author's Response: Thanks, Elfy. :-)

Wow, Chelsea, I really don't understand how you people get such original ideas. I mean, this was just great. The way you have portrayed their relationship and interactions, till the end, is awesome! I especially loved the beginning. For a while, I really thought this was Sirius' last moment and this story was in flash-back. But I was wrong, it was only a chess game. And I had to laugh.

Stories like this usually seem rushed but I felt nothing rushed or fake in this story. I absolutely enjoyed reading it and to me, this is the best story portraying a deep (I am ignoring 'bitter', here) relationship between two cousins - Bella and Sirius.

I think I understood the end, but I am not sure. However, I am certain that Sirius did win, even when Bellatrix defeated him in the duel and sent him through the viel. Great job, Chelsea! *huggles*

Author's Response: Thanks, Tahi! I'm really glad you liked it, since this is probably my personal favorite. :-)

I listened to the song on youtube while reading this. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! It goes perfectly. And it brought a tear to my eye, your fic was so beautiful. GREAT JOB! I loved how he forgave her at the end. Beautiful. 10/10

Author's Response: Thank you!! I'm really happy you listened to the song, so now you can sort of understand the background and what inspired the story. :)

Review #5, by Violet Gryfindor Win One for the Reaper

9th February 2008:
Wow, this is a brilliant story. I've never read one that explores Bellatrix and Sirius' relationship, not like this. The way that it spans from "youth" to Sirius' death captured almost a lifetime of rivalry and bitterness between the two sides.

The short scenes contained such powerful language and emotion that even though this was not that long a story, it felt like much longer a piece. Sirius started with a win and also ended that way - him forgiving her was very moving, it demonstrated the great gulf between them, because she would never think of forgiving him. It made his death less heartbreaking, but I can't explain how or why.

Quite a story! Thank you for posting it. =)

Author's Response: You're welcome, and thank you! Your review made my day. :)
