Not bad But could have been better i liked the ending it really sumed up the tory though.

Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing - I'm sure you're right that it could have been better, but I'd like to know what you were referring to specifically, so I can improve! :)

Blaise and Hermione? I can't say I ever EVER imagined that. But it worked, or, rather, you made it work! Not everyone could pull it off, I bet, and still stick to canon, but you did, you amazing writer, you.

The way they considered it an understanding was the icing on the cake - no 'I'm secretly in love' things, but an actual understanding where they don't necessarily like each other...but understand each other.

Author's Response: Yay! I'm so glad it worked. Thank you for the lovely review, Ali :)

Absolutely fantastic. :D

This was so funny and sweet, and it was written SO well. Your grammar was wonderful, you managed to string every sentence together in the proper way (just like I failed to do in every sentence I have written so far in this review. See last sentence for proof. *facepalm*), and you...well, basically you managed to be downright brilliant in every way. I've never actually read a Hermione/Blaise before, but it was really well written, and surprisingly canon! ^_^

You're so fab, Emz! Love you!
Majaxx

Author's Response: Awww thank you Maja :) I'm so happy you think I pulled off this pairing! Love you!

Love it, Em! I really cannot describe how I feel when I read about relationships like this. Not that Blaise and Hermione were in a relationship or anything...but kissing one time and then forgetting about it...I don't know if I like the concept of that, but definitely liked how to portrayed it all in this one-shot. Especially, Blaise. He's so sweet! Your portrayal of Luna is great, too. I can just imagine twirling around on the dance floor around Hermione, without caring what others think of her actions. Priceless! I seriously wish Ron was there to see it. LOL. Overall, I enjoyed it and can't wait to read more of your stories *glomps Em*

Review #5, by delta An Understanding

19th March 2008:
Aww, this was so beautiful.

Even though I'd already read this as part of the SAYS SS exchange, I am still in love with how you present all of the characters. You made the 'missing moment' fit in beautifully and the scene at the end, where Hermione walks away as Mrs. Weasley with no regrets was a beautiful touch. Although I'm not a R/Hr shipper by any stretch of the imagination, I love that you don't have her showing any regret. Hermione strikes me as the type to do something and stick to it, and your portrayal of that was wonderfully realistic (unlike a lot of other fics attempting to portray fanon relationships . . . *coughDHr(which-I-love-anyways)cough*).

I love the way that Blaise is characterized here from his hesitant attitude and inability to completely remove the shields surrounding her. The fact that he still calls her 'Mudblood' was wonderful - so many fics have these pureblood-raised Slytherins suddenly not caring about blood. I think the awkwardness here fits the situation perfectly.

Brilliant, brilliant job here, Em. I loved it!

22nd February 2008:
*falls from heaven into review box 'cos she's just THAT guilty about leaving this for almost two months and is only just now reviewing instead of... writing... something... and thinks Em deserves another review for this criminally underappreciated one-shot that she actually LIKED and for that lauds the wonderful author*

*cough* It does get annoying, doesn't it, talking in *asterisks*. But yeah. That's basically what I felt when I read this for the first time back in January, and when I read it again almost two months later. Because this was just that adorable. Crystal is SO lucky to have had you as a Secret Santa because you completely, despite AU-phobia, pulled this off. Completely. But this isn't even that AU, actually, can you believe it? I suppose that's what you were going for, considering the very Ronmione ending. But why talk about the ending when I haven't even hit the beginning? *smacks self* I'm such an idiot, aren't I?

Okay, the beginning. Spot-on characterisations all around, and I adored McLaggen. We all hate him and he's just so wonderfully reprehensible I actually sympathised with Hermione. And I really don't like Hermione. But then Blaise! *swoons* How is it that in mostly everything you have ever posted, I'm *swoons*ing over someone or other? Maybe I'm just that light-headed, but I have a sneaky suspcion it has something to do with how you write him. Very, very in character. And Luna! *dies laughing* She's blunt, but delicately so, which doesn't make sense but let's ignore that and move on to Pansy and the 'shrieking giggle' (which made me giggle too) and the dancing. Hah, I will never get over how terrible it is that I actually liked Cormac! Sure, he's a git and deserves to be stood up but he's... funny. *snickers* But NOTHING will top Blaismione! (Is that how you'd spell it?)

Chocolate! YAY FOR CHOCOLATE! And it's a gorgeous segue to their little convo and the KISS! SQUE+E+E+E+E+E+E much! *loves* I really don't like Hermione in fanfiction at all and here I was actually JEALOUS of her since Blaise is so fanciable (is that a word? Note how the American is using British spelling :P). But yeah. GORGEOUS. And the Ronmione ending... well, I said that in the beginning of the review when it was in the end of the fic, and honestly it was actually a GORGEOUS ending. Even the Ronmione-ness, which I'm quite certain is not by any means a word, but let's forget that because this isn't about my ridiculous run-ons or even whether or not words exist - it's about this. Lovely, gorgeous job and again, Crystal is VERY lucky to have had you writing her fic! *adores*

I loved it! Thanks for writing it for me. It was really good. I liked how you had the wedding gift be the box of chocolates, that was really good. 10/10 and going into my favorites! ~Crystal

Author's Response: Thanks so much, Crystal! I've never written this pairing before, so it's really thanks to you that you like it so much anyway ;) Thanks for reading and reviewing! *worships*

I don't know that I would have ever put Blaise and Hermione together. You somehow made it work. I do appreciate that she still ended up with Ron in the end though ;o).

Author's Response: It was a pairing I'd not thought of doing, either, and I didn't know if it'd work ... I'm so glad you think it did! Yep, couldn't have her NOT with Ron, that would be sacrilege :P Thanks for reading and reviewing!!

Em! Gorgeous, much?

I can actually totally see this happening! And I realy liked the kiss. What's happened to me? Are you shocked? You should be...you have just got me SQUEING, yes SQUEING, about Hermione kissing anyone but Ron! Do you know how difficult that is to accomplish? Very!

The first time I grinned when I read this was when you commented on the two guffawing witches. That's JKR, right? Using her words really helped set up the scene and through the canon you were able to build up an unthinkable fic in such a realistic manner. :)

Now, being the ultimate Ron fangirl, I'm not the greatest fan of Hermione, but you really, really made me respect her for agreeing to dance with Luna like that! And then disrespect McLaggen le poo for taking advantage of the situation! Very cool way of setting up your characters there! :) Having the sympathetic breakup between Blaise and Pansy also helped put him on agreeable terms with the reader, which I think is important in being able to pull the pairing off. Good idea, there!

The interaction you have written between Hermione and Blaise is lovely. I'm glad it wasn't just a kiss, because that would have been too random. The chocolate was a perfect way to start conversation - it's something I would do in an awkward situation! Just lovely, lovely, lovely! :D And the ending...I can't decide if it's heartwarming or heartbreaking on both Ron and Blaise's part! A brilliant, brilliant piece! SQUE! 10/10 x

5th January 2008:
Ohhh! I loved it! It was brilliantly written, and I loved how you showed Hermione truly in love with Ron at the end. Lots of stories I've read have been '& she married Ronald but still loved [insert name here]. Lovely job, - t o r a

Author's Response: Thanks so much! I'm so glad you liked it. I am a hardcore Ronmione shipper so I couldn't let that slide ;) I wanted to make this story as canon as possible even while being a totally AU pairing, so I'm so glad you thought it worked! Thanks for reading and reviewing! :D
