Hi Sandy! First off... Dudley Dursley and Cho Chang? OMG!! You're spending too much time with the Anti Cho Club at SAYS. lololol. I know he's not as bad as his mother and father, but still... Oh well, I'll read on and maybe you'll be able to convince me that this ship can float more than the Titanic that night. :D Seriously, it's a very good start. I like the tone of this story. It reminds me of some books and movies about 'old' cops. They think they are realists, and maybe they are, but they are cynical and bitter men too. Of course, Michael has a good reason to be. But still... Anyway, it was nicely done. -AnneAuthor's Response: Thanks Anne! Nice to hear from you. I like the idea of Dudley and Cho, JKR says she married a muggle so why not Dudley? I don't know when I'll update this. I know what the next chapter is supposed to be, but I have a bit of writers block with this. Thanks for the review! Report Review
Somehow, Sandy I don't see a Magical Irish Republican Army. Though I do like what you've done with Michael Corner. The way I see it, Wizards have their own crap to deal with so they don't get involves in disputes like the one between the Irish and Great Britain. Oh, and in the next chapter of my story, as well as finish up the Bigfoot thing, I send Yuki and Colin to Egypt on a vacation that rapidly turns into an Indiana Jones treasure hunt for a Bajoran artifact that links Yuki to Bajor's Gods (and wormhole aliens) in my favorite Star Trek, Deep Space Nine, the Prophets.Author's Response: Thanks! The MIRA thing isn't planned to be a big part of the story. But I imagine that they are a small group of muggle born wizards who haven't given up their muggle prejudices yet or whose muggle relatives have been hurt by the police. You're right in that pure-blood wizards wouldn't care. You're stories are really sprawling aren't they? BTW I stole your Sasquatch idea in a minor way. Every since you mentioned it, it has been running through my head to do something about them and Luna. I tried to sort of tie it into the Christmas duel but wasn't really able to finish it on time and it sort of ended up as two very different but somewht related fics. So I have two new fics now. Thanks for the review. Report Review
Hey Sandy! This was a lot of fun! Perfect feel of the old beat cop/detective movies/TV shows. I'm not sure if the voice I hear in my head reading the story to me is Joe Friday, or Bogey. Maybe it is Rick Deckard. Your choice of characters is great. I can't wait to read more about Dudley and Cho, and all the others. Adding this to the fav list! 10/10 --JimAuthor's Response: Jim, Thanks! I've recently become a James Patterson and Nelson DeMille fan and I wanted to see how there style of writing which seems similar to me would translate to the world of Harry Potter. I don't really like mysteries but I like thrillers. DA Report Review
It's gone 3am and I was just about to go to bed, when I happend to come across this. Obviously I couldn't stop myself. This has got DA Jones written all over it. There is something about the way you write that drags me into being mesmerised by something I would never otherwise read. I noticed a few typos etc, but you said this was a first draft, so that's fine! :) Truly amazing and truly chilling. Your attention to detail is outstanding. I can't wait to hear more from Michael (an inspiring choice of character)! ~ andy xAuthor's Response: Thank you. I glad you think I mesmerizing. It's nice to have such an enthustiastic fan. BTW way I can return the compliament. I know I haven't left you a review for a while but I distinctly remember being mesmerized by one of your fics at 3 am too. Thanks for the review Andy! ~ Sandy Report Review
Wow... I really like this. It's serious, and I'm getting addicted quick. And I don't think I've ever read a story in Michael's POV, so this is new... I really like this. A lot. 10/10 for a chapter well written!Author's Response: Thanks You! Especially for the ten! I agree stories about Michael Corner are rare especially from Michael's POV. But I find the minor characters more interesting than the major ones sometimes. The only other POV fic entirely from Michael's POV that I remember is Turning the Corner by Grace Has Victory. An awesome fic. Report Review
