Review #1, by magnolia_magic Nicholas, the protagonist

14th July 2013:
Hi! I love Founders fics and yours caught my eye, so I'm here with a review!

This is a really intriguing start! I like the liberties you've taken with canon, and I can tell it's going to be very interesting to see how these different dynamics unfold between the Founders and their families. I think you did a great job with Godric here; he seems like a great leader, and I can see that everyone really does look up to him. And Salazar seemed appropriately mysterious. I'm interested to see if he and Godric can truly work out their past "feud."

My favorite character by far, though, is Rowena. I've never seen her portrayed as a potions master, but you've given a convincing reason for it; she's determined to find a way to cure the werewolf she loves. That's going to be such a compelling story, I can tell!

If I can offer just a bit of concrit, though: while I get that prologues are for explaining what the story will be about, I almost wish you hadn't given so much away about Nicholas at the very beginning. When you say that "hero will be a generous word" for him, it sort of tells us a lot about what the plot is going to be. I think a little more mystery there would add a lot to this first chapter :)

Great start! I'm very intrigued, and I hope I get the chance to read on!

Review #2, by plainjane Suzannah, the courtesan

24th February 2008:
Your story is definitely the most original fanfic I have ever read! First, you used the Founders, generally a forgotten group of characters. Second, you borrowed Hamlet. I can't wait to read more of your story. Although, if it stays loyal to Shakespeare's play, it won't end well. I suspect I'll shed some tears by the end. Keep up the good work and amazing combination of plots.

Author's Response: Oh wow! Thankyou! I know my taste is a little diverse! So Thanks for reading this!

Hmmm. Yes. If you know Hamlet then you will see where I'm going with this... oh dear. Tehe!

Thankyou for reading and reviewing!

Review #3, by beating_faster Suzannah, the courtesan

29th January 2008:
classes anyway and I've always found that friendly competition can boost performance

I liked that. Anyway, this fic seems as original as ever, though maybe not canon. I can't imagine Godric Gryffindor so easily accepting his generosity when he thought he gave Suzannah the locket. 'Accepting' isn't the right word, but what I'm trying to say is that your characters already seem to have strong personalities, even if they don't seem the way we all thought the founders were like...which might be the point. ha, I'll stop rambling now. looking forward to the next post =)

Author's Response: I know, I used a bit of artistic license here (does it say AU in the genre section? I look that up in a sec...)

I can't promise an imminent update, but I'm definitely looking into it once I've got a load of other plot bunnies off my chest!

Thanks for reading and reviewing, I'm glad you like this!

Review #4, by beating_faster Nicholas, the protagonist

27th January 2008:
Wow. I have never been at all interested in the founders, but the way you tell it is so intriguing. I'm hooked and ridiculously curious. I really love how Rowena's younger than the other founders, it really...shifts things around a bit. And I'm really believing this fic, there's something about it, don't know what it is yet...So yeah, awesome first chapter. I'll admit that at first, in the very beginning, like the first paragraph, I wasn't that interested, but then I pushed myself to keep going and then I couldn't stop. heh.

Author's Response: Oh wow! Thankyou! Hmmm... maybe I'll do some cutting of that first paragraph then...

I know, I've used a bit of artistic license to try and get the story to fit in with Hamlet (this is some revision!!!)...

Anyway, thankyou so much for reading and reviewing this story!

Review #6, by evie_doherty Nicholas, the protagonist

5th December 2007:
beautiful! can't wait to see where this story goes as a shakespeare/hamlet fanatic. i love nicholas already, he's engaging and a well written gryffindor heir (slightly arrogant, confident, intelligent to a fault etc) and rowena and fortune slytherin.. excellent! (great names as well, lindon hufflepuff is wonderful)

anyway, am holding my breath to see where you'll take this. 10/10

Author's Response: Yayers! Someone reviewed Madness!!!

Thankyou so much, you're so kind! This fic is really to help me with my english lit exam- whenever I read Hamlet I always picture the characters in Hogwarts... and slowly they became the founders...

Should be an update soon...

Thanks for the review
