Aww James is the hero, and he's suddenly a nice guy. Contrasting to his previous behavior, but still. Sometimes our evil gits turn out to be nice guys in disguise. And nice guys turn out to be the opposite - like Rob.

I think I know a guy just like the James Potter in your story. Utterly devine, yet overrated when it comes down to it. Boys like that aren't worth it - but we'll see if James is.
Second chapter is better than the first =) Maybe that's because it's starting to get sexy.
