How wonderfully you capture one moment in time!
And though it is about Remus (my favorite character), it manages to give us a sense of Dumbledore's suffering too.
I loved it!

Author's Response: Thank you so much! (He's my favorite too!) I hadn't thought of that (re: DD), but I definitely was trying to convey that he was also incredibly upset--thanks for that!

That was a really powerfully story...even for its shortness. I think that you captured the way Remus would feel after the news very well. You did a wonderful job. Awesome one-shot. 10/10.

Author's Response: Thanks so much! He's my favorite character and I wanted to do that moment justice. I appreciate your kind review :D

This is amazingly powerful writing...I never thought about how Remus took the news for their 'passing'...
However you're missed out an aspect of his despair... the dispair of being betrayed by Sirius and the confusion later on about why he killed Peter and all those muggles... - so I suggest you make this a trilogy of despair - the second should be the one I've suggested... the next set either after PoA or OotP...
But well done on this one!

Author's Response: Thank you for such a lovely review! I'm really glad that it resonated with you like that, and I'm blushing at your first phrase, there :)

As for your suggestion... well, when I'd originally started it, it was to be a longer story with those aspects added. When I reread the beginning, though, I found that it had more impact with me if I left him sitting against the fireplace. To me, Remus hadn't even thought about the Sirius thing yet, he was still overcome with grief. I am signed up for a 100-fic challenge at 100quills, so I'll probably touch on those other things at some point in the future!

Brilliant! I think this is exactly how Remus would react to the deaths of Lily&James and it's so incredibly written! it's really fantastic. i could swear i nearly cried hehe.
10/10 for sure!

Author's Response: Thank you very much! This is one of my favorites of my own stories (for all that it's so short), so I am really glad to see that you liked it so much!
