This is a very well portrayed idea. I love how he can think about Lily and James and how Harry's life has changed even amidst the celebrations. The idea of him wanting to forget for one night those who were lost is also very real. Understandable because you wrote it so well.

This may be short but this is the best story I have ever read. IT's been fantastically written and I love it!

Author's Response: Thank you so much!! I'm glad you liked it. I wish I had been able to make it a bit longer, but I ran out of words so decided to leave it as it was. Thanks for your review!!!!

That was the most amazing thing i have ever read. I am not kidding, your style of writing is brilliant, and it sent shivers down my spine. I would say it was equal to the writing of JK herself, but in a different style, a style I must admit, I prefer.

I love stories that can twist my emotions, whilst remaining on subject. You went into perfect detail but didn’t let it drift of subject and the meaning get lost.

My heart is beating unusually fast, this never happens, what did you do!?! To be able to control my feeling with such a short but sweet peace is a real accomplishment, 10/10.

The story is beautiful, easily my favourite hpff yet. I would like to see more like it. I will definitely read more of your storeys if you have any.

So well done, brilliant.

Author's Response: Wow. I don't even know how to respond to such nice compliments. Thanks so much!! My style is extremely different JKR's; I prefer to write emotion driven ficlets than plot-driven books. I'm glad it did affect your emotions, that was my entire goal: to take a different, emotional look at the end of the First War. I'm so very glad it worked. Thank you so much for your wonderful, enthusiastic review. I hope my other stories please you as well.

I like reading stories with minor characters, be it this one, very minor. Really great little story from an outside perspective!

Author's Response: Thanks. I always kind of feel that JKR has created such complex main characters that I really cannot write about them without sullying them. Her minor characters though, they're fair game :). I'm eternallly grateful for Moody's photography in OotP, it's given me tons of new characters. Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed it and thanks for taking the time to review!

A few months back you asked for a review, and after an inexcusably long time, I am here to fill that request :)

This was such a bittersweet piece. You did a really great job of tapping into such somber emotions. It is almost as if now that Dedalus has a moment to experience feelings other that urgency and fear, he finds himself missing his friends the most. It’s insightful in a way...in spite of, or perhaps because of the happy occasion, Dedalus can’t help but think of all those he lost, identifying with Harry, who is only learning what he too has lost. Nice work covering so much depth in such a short piece!

Aside from good content and theme, you show a nice writing style here. It is simple but poetic, fitting nicely with the mood of the piece. My only complaint, if you can call it that, is that it left me wanting to read more. I love reading about briefly mentioned canon characters and it would have been nice to learn a bit more about who you think Dedalus is. Other than that, this was a very nice one-shot.

Thanks so much for sharing!

Author's Response: Thank you for reviewing. I'm really glad you like it and you saw what I was trying to get across (though you explained it much better than I ever could have.) I might add a second one-shot if Dedalus decides to talk to me again; I have no control over what I end up writing.

wow...this is really good....its sad....and just a question, who was dedalus diggle? the name rings a bell....but i dont really remember who he was...--ang

Author's Response: Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. Dedalus Diggle is a really minor character. He was a member of the Order and at the beginning of the first book it says he shot stars through the sky (hence my idea for this story)
