I really like the style of this, it's wordy without dragging, verbose but not overly so. It's just flat out well-written. The pacing of the story could be marginally improved upon and the chapters seem to just launch into their point without a cohesive transition from chapter-to chapter, but the quality of the writing more than makes up for that. Very well done, I liked this look into lycanthropy rather much.

Author's Response: It's actually a rewrite of a fic I did when I was thirteen, and it's taking me a while to drag myself through my terrible writing style back then. ^__^ I'll take what you said about the "cohesive transition" into account, because I know for a fact I tend to jump into things without any real thought process explained. :-P Thanks for the lovely review!

Another great chapter! I liked Dumbledore's reaction: "My, how unfortunate." That's just like him. However, if you read Half-Blood Prince again, you'll see that Hermione explains werewolves do not attack to kill. Furthermore, Fenrir Greyback bit Remus because John Lupin offended him. Still, this chapter was beautifully written and I look forward to more, hopefully soon ;)

Author's Response: This was actually written LONG before Halfblood Prince, and I decided that if I didn't want to compromise the original intent of the fic as I edited it, that I would not alter events that are now proven to be out of canon. I should have explained as such in my author's note.

This is a wonderful beginning. You've really captured Remus's voice, which I always find very hard to do. He's such a complicated character, and you've already conveyed that in two short chapters. I'm amazed. I can't wait to see what other insights you have into Remus.
