My scHedule (who should be nagging who about misspellings) had a bit more room, so I can finally review this chapter. Nicely used and beautiful descriptions in the story. A bit of a leap from the letter to the graveyard (if you want to split the chapter at some point, that might be a good place to do it - not that you absolutely need to). I would have liked it a bit better if you had written what the letter from Hermione's mom said word for word, instead of explaining it - at a loss for a better word- freely. Anyway I enjoyed reading the story :).

Wow...big cliffy. Anyways, It was an amazing start. Especially your first paragraph, that was beautiful. I loved your descriptions. Obviously, you wrote this before HBP {half blood prince}, or you wrote it without reading it, so there are quite a few differences. But that's ok. That just means your story is AU {alternate universe.} Anyways, good story. The first chapter was a bit long. I know somewhere it's written on HPFF...that the perferred amount of words in a chapter is about 2000..i think you went over the limit just a bit. it seemed to lag a little by the length. Maybe you should chop it up into two chapters? just a thought. Anyways, continue writing! This story has got a nice start.

Author's Response: Thank you very much for reviewing. The reason why the chapter is so long is that I didn't want to chop it up, because it was suppose to be like one of the chapters in the real HPB. But I will think about chopping it to two chapters now, it is quite long...
