Wow...for a second I thought it was Draco, until you began the flashback...
I'm just going to pretend that you were writing about a platonic relationship, because I really don't ship Harry and Hermione together at all...What I mean is that I'm hoping that Hermione doesn't reciprocate his feelings...
It's so sad, how you wrote that she had disappeared from life, and that she berated herself for for failing everybody and not saving them, especially not saving Draco when he wanted to keep them both alive. But she felt that the worst was the the mourning she had done after she was unable to protect both of them ended up preventing her from protecting the other people she loved...goodness.
I really hope she realizes that she can redeem herself by sharing her pain with Harry, and stop blaming everything on herself. And stop saying that falling in love with Draco was a complete mistake on her part. And realize that it was because of her that Harry suceeded. But I'm not even going to think about if they get together...haha I just can't imagine Harry and Hermione together... :P

I don't know if you meant to do this or not - but until the last lines- I read the whole thing as Draco being the one who had survived! =) What a twist! She's shutting Harry out- and Draco died! That has got to be shattering Harry- you did such a wonderful job of describing Hermione. What is the point of being perfect if you're useless? I can't believe it- this was so wonderful. How ever do you think up these scenes in your head? You so display who Hermione is- who Harry is- who Draco is so perfectly. It's crazy to think there are people out there as talented as you =)

Wow.. I don't think I've ever enjoyed a one shot this much! It was really good. I think you should definately write a story to go along with this, to tell what happened before this and how she fell in love with Draco. Once again, really great writing! Loved it.
