2nd January 2014:
Hello! I'm here for the Seventh of the Twelve Days of Reviewing.

I really enjoyed reading this little oneshot, it was definitely a lovely piece of work.

how you made James and Scorpius best friends was definitely different and quite refreshing, I did expect it but it worked so who am I to complain? Besides, I thought it was a very nice touch. I really like how you had James want to drive everywhere, he reminded me of Fred and George when they'd just hearned to Apparate. :P

I really liked how you painted Rose as well, she seemed really nice but one of those tense, high strung people who overthink everything, and I really liked how you gave her that fault, it seemed really natural for her to have that fault and I was really glad the Scorpius calmed her down eventually. I also liked how you had Al try and escape her shopping, because really, shopping with someone like that can't be nice.

I think that Rose and Scorpius' relationship was nice as well, it was just a kiss under the mistletoe, but it didn't really seem too rushed and the best thing was that they weren't falling arounf prclaiming their undying love for each other straight afterwards, which was pleasant and natural at all.

I enjoyed the little mention of Dom you put in, how she only wanted the smart guys to like her haha. The downs of being part-Veela, I suppose. :P

All in all, I think that you did a really good job with this oneshot, I really enjoyed reading it. Well done for getting an entry in the Duel and good luck in it!

Author's Response: Thank you so much for this review! It made me feel so much better about this piece. :D Lately, I've just been writing my scorpius as best friends with James rather than Albus like everyone else. It just works best with my stories. Lol idk why. I'm glad you like the little funnies in my story, I try to add subtle bits even in my more serious stuff.
Anyway thank you so much for this review. It made my day. I am so glad you liked it. :D

Yeah, Christmas shopping as an adult is tougher. It's easier when you're a kid. And men shopping, *sigh* Yep. Nailed it.

Love James wanting to drive everywhere. That's hilarious. Interesting that you made Scorpius and James best friends instead of the usual Scorpius and Albus. Sort of a refreshing change there :) I really enjoyed your characterizations; all the Next Genners you wrote were really well done. I like "Madam Pimpernelle's", too - I do love the Scarlet Pimpernel so I hope you were referencing it!

Ahahaha I died laughing at Rose buying Gilderoy's book for her mom! *high five*

Really cute, I loved the kiss. Great story! I'll have to go look for more Next Gens from you. Merry Christmas!

Author's Response: Thank you so much! I am very glad you enjoyed it. I like James and Scorpius best as friends it just works for me so im glad im not the only one. Yay! I'm funny!
Thank you so much for the review! And a merry merry christmas!

I love how you set the tone of the whole thing with sentences like "Being pureblood had not prepared him for the shock of being driven around by the barely permissible." That's great! You really capture teenagers out to have fun, and I can so easily see James being a menace on the road like his Uncle Ron.

The one thing I'm confused on is the James/Scorpius meeting on the train bit. I may well be wrong, but isn't Scorpius Albus' age? That would put James and Scorp in different years, which makes them being best friends a bit quirky.

Other than that, I love the story. The little details you put in really flesh the situation out, and I adore the little nod to Gilderoy Lockhart! I can really see Ron hamming that story up to Hermione's everlasting embarrassment. Great touch!

Very enjoyable story, I will definitely be checking out more of your work! Merry Christmas to you and yours!

Author's Response: In the books yeah Scorpius is Albus and Rose's age, I just like him being older and friends with James best. :D lol. I like adding little things like the Lockhart or pureblood stuff just to lighten the mood a bit.
Thank you so much for the sweet review. I am glad that you enjoyed my story! :D Merry Christmas to you as well!
