Poor Lily. On the other hand, she'll have fun with Ryan.

Author's Response: Poor Lily indeed! Thanks for the review :)

I love the brother sister dynamo you have going on between james and lily. They are just so sweet together. I'm excited to see how this whole prom thing goes down I think it will be interesting, very interesting. I also love how protective kit seems to be of lily, I think it adds a little something more to this end of the story as well. Great job I look forward to reading more.

Author's Response: The James/Lily dynamic was one of my favourite ones to write in this whole fic. It's so lovely to have such a strong sibling relationship for him to fall back on. :) And the prom scene was one of my favourite ones to write. I'm so glad you like Kit because he's one of my favourites, and I think Maddie gets most of the love, haha. Thanks for reviewing! :)

Another great chapter!! And, did Lily's words break my heart too. Gosh, what that girl must go through, in some words being separated from the rest of her family. Absolutely heartbreaking.

But a great chapter nonetheless, and I'm on a Off-The-Rails marathon, so I better keep going!!

Author's Response: Lily goes through one hell of a lot. Most of the time, she manages with her situation, but every now and again something crops up which she finds difficult, and this is one of those situations. But she'll soldier on, because that's the kind of person she is. Cheers for the review :)

aw Robbie!
such a bad idea to go with ROSALIND!
lol i approve of maddie yelling at him xD
but lily going with murph seems like a very good idea. lily can show him off hahaha
and make all of the girls jealous of her hot date xD

aw lily D;
wishing she wasn't a squib D;
i can't even begin to FATHOM how horrible it must be for her that she cant be around magic
and that she has to deal with all of this.
having to tell someone about magic, and the worst part is that she's not even magic... D;

for a moment, when i saw the chapter summary, i thought it had something to do with carlotta haha
i think james is concerned with more than just modifying carlotta's memory.
i wish he would recognize that... D;

Author's Response: The main moral of this story? Boys are silly. Haha :) But yes, it's a pretty tough situation for Lily to be in; she's coped well with it so far but every now and again, something crops up to knock her backwards slightly. And it's always going to be like that for her so long as she has to keep it all secret. It's not easy being a Squib!

Yeah, I decided to be cruel with my chapter summary, haha. James is TOTALLY more concerned with more than just modifying Carlotta's memory. As for how long it takes him to twig ... well, keep reading ;) Thanks for reviewing!

Bad memory, hmm? A bad memory because she's DYING? Wait, wait, now I'm cooking up crazy conspiracy theories like maybe she knows she's dying, somehow learnt about magic, and is trying to use James to get access to a cure and doesn't REALLY care about him! Muwahahaha! No, I don't think that's actually going on.

Okay, you're right, Kit's growing on me and grew a lot on me this chapter. Poor boy; you can tell he's been friends with girls lots if he knows so automatically to apply tea and chocolate to a crisis. Is there nothing these staples of Britishness cannot solve? AWW poor Lily. She's breaking my heart! Of course she'd have issues of intimacy after everything backfiring, and it's made all the more heartening because she's been such a trooper about being a Squib, so when she's really letting it get to her, you know it's really bad. Even if this is more about being whittled down overall than this individual incident.

For a 'fluff' chapter (and I love my fluff chapters) this one is particularly adorable. Everyone's on top form for characterisation, James is sweet, Lily is endearing, Kit is coming into his own a bit more (as he's been easily overshadowed by Lily and Maddie in the past) and Maddie remains Maddie and I, of course, wish to see more.

Good stuff!

Author's Response: I love your conspiracy theories over what might happen, haha. Keep thinking ;)

Yeah, this was definitely Kit's moment to shine; he's more in touch with his emotions and generally more well-rounded than Maddie is, so this is where he really has a part to play in Lily's life and, indeed, the story. Very glad to know you've grown to like him! Poor Lily, yes; she does try to keep a brave face on things but this has worn her down a lot. She copes remarkably well with being a Squib ... but it's never going to be easy for her, not while the Statute of Secrecy exists. Glad you like, thanks for reviewing!
