Very interesting take on Neville you have here.
He is strong and determined get he is able to remain so calm and collected so not to allow the worst to become of him for his actions which would have been solely based upon pure revenge. I do like how you've given Neville that Gryffindor spirit we all know him to be capable of fighting until the very end simply refusing to give up. Of course as you've stated, that is why they won, they never gave up. And I believe you have captured that perfectly here!

Well done! :)

This was very well written. You captured both Neville and Bellatrix very well - they were very in character.

I admit, when I first saw the title of this, I instantly thought of Rick Astley's song "Never Gonna Give You Up".

I really like the mention of Grawp doing his bit, even if he is tiny compared to the other giants, and I love how you reflected that onto Neville's situation too.

I always wanted Neville to be the one to defeat Bellatrix, but with this fic I'm happy to give that to Molly. I think just the fact that Neville never gave up in his fight is vengence enough. I think it actually meant more for him not to kill her than it would've had he killed her.

Those final sentences are a little abrupt, but I like them. Perhaps if there was something a little more between them it would've worked a bit better, but I still think they work very effectively at closing off the story and sticking in my mind.

This was a nice little story! It was a perfect bit from the fight that exemplified the good guys' attitude towards the whole war. Sure, this one fight was much more personal than the entire war was, but the reason why they won didn't change. It's a good lesson that I think everyone should learn.

Harry didn't give up either, even though he was prepared to die. If he'd really given up he wouldn't have told Neville to kill Nagini, and he wouldn't have come back from 'King's Cross'.

Anyways, THIS story's moral is something to keep with you. Thank you for writing it.

I think that you've got Neville's character down perfectly. I really like the thought of him battling Bellatrix, even if he didn't get to kill her. I think that he would definitely be thinking of his parents then, and it showed just how far he'd come from his first year when he attempted to use an Unforgivable Curse, even if it didn't succeed. I also really like how you had Luna and Ginny come to his aid--they're some of his closest friends, the "seeing" all of them fight against Bellatrix is a nice thought. The last line, "Because they never gave up" was nice as well, it really brought the feeling of unity in the battle around.

Good work! I really liked this, you did a great job. :)

Great one-shot! It really explained the determination and will-power Neville showed during the final battle. Torn between what his heart and head was telling him, he stood his ground. You explained in detail how he might have been feeling and you did it well. For such a short one-shot, it packed a whole lot of heart and feeling into it. Great job.

Sometimes I wish Neville had killed Bella instead of Molly, though I loved Molly's line. But I really think if Neville were to ever explode and kill someone, it would definitely be Bellatrix.

And of course the theme of togetherness! It's everything HP is about! Lovely!
