Review #1, by In The Shadows I Dwell

20th August 2010:
I've always seen Draco as a bully and a coward, but at the same time I've never seen him (in canon) as a hero. Although I don't necessarily agree with him being one there is no denying that his change of heart really shows us something else about his character, that ability for good that we so rarely see. Yes, it may have come from cowardice yet at the same time he did not kill anyone and perhaps in the end that is the main thing.

I particularly liked the link that has formed in this short piece between Astoria and Draco, which could very well have been similar to the type of conversation that begun their relationship. It seems as though Draco, despite fighting for the loosing team also lost many people he cared for in this war and in the end, really he deserves some sympathy. (Then again, that just might be me!)

However, getting back on track, your piece highlighted some of Draco's more admirable qualities as well as some of his less-admirable qualities, giving us a small insight into how that mind of his potentially works. I liked this piece and this different Draco, keep up the great work!

A hero because he changed his mind - that's an interesting take on Draco's redemption. I've never been much of a believer that there was anything much to Draco worth salvaging, but this story just might manage to change my mind.

I thought the characterizations were excellent. And the dialogue was quite good. A fine story.

I really don't see how Draco could turn to the good side, but I guess that's just my prejudice speaking, so I'll move on to writing style and flow instead ;)
I like the way you characterize people in your stories. It's not completely straightforward (and if you made it even less "he was good", it would be just for the better). Your writing style and the flow of this story made it a very pleasant read. Good job!

Interestingly positive slant on Draco's character.
I was carried along until that final paragraph.
Draco stayed to find out what Harry was up to, in a desperate attempt to regain some favour with Voldemort. That much is clear in the discussions in the Room of Requirement. Still it's interesting to see Astoria trying to find the best side of Draco.
