Wow! What an intersting POV! I never even thought of addressing Dumbledore in the midstation between life and death, awaiting Harry and trying to console what is left of Tom Riddle's soul, but you did it brilliantly. It must have been such a relief when he realised that all his pieces had fallen into place and Harry had arrived, able to choose whether to go on or to die. It would have been heartbreaking to see the poor bundle that was once Tom Riddle, unable to hear him or to redeem, which would have been the only thing that could have saved it, yet he did what he could and was then able to let go to deal with what was more important - Harry himself. Excellent bit of writing.

cheers, Mel

This is fantastic! Dumbledore is such a complex and fascinating character, and this one shot really does him justice. I love how you have him coming to terms with the difficult decisions he's had to make, and with the regrets he has over Tom Riddle, but without having him gloss over his part in it, or being blasť about any of it.

The description is gorgeous too - right from the start we are given a really vivid picture of where we are and what's going on, seeing the same things Harry would soon see, but subtly altered in that they are from Dumbledore's perspective. Really nice prose there, and a really nice insight into Dumbledore's mind.

There was a part in the middle where I felt Dumbledore went just a little bit OOC, but other than that, this was really just a fantastic read. I really enjoyed it. Dumbledore's emotions were clear and quite nearly tangible through the words. I think you did a really excellent job conveying the story. Well done.

Such an interesting story! Never read this scene before. It was great to read it from Dumbledore's perspective.

I like how Dumbledore talks to the Voldemort/baby and tries to change it, because that is so Dumbledore. A normal person probably would've tried to kill the baby right there and then, but Dumbledore, even now, gave second chances. I like how in the end though, he accepts that he's given him the chance, and he hasn't taken it. I thought the personality of Dumbledore was well written, the whole story was!

Loved it!
