Hmm, this feels a little too short and disjointed for me, but I still like it. I've never read something with Fluer as the main character, so that's interesting. I like how she admires the Weasleys, and obviously considers them her own family. It must've been difficult for her to choose between her family in France and her new family in England, during the war.

I like how protective the Wealsey boys were of Ginny, but I can really see her reacting in that way to people not liking her presence at the battle.

And just as a little side note... I love this Bill :)

Aww, this is lovely, and really sad too. I love that you had her saying goodbye to the twins, but that Bill wouldn't let her say it to him - very sweet, and a little heart-wrenching too.

Overall the flow of this piece is really great too - speeding up the action when to describe it would make the story drag, and then slowing it down when there's interesting stuff to be described. The only bit that didn't quite work was the description of their journey from portrait to Room of Requirement - potentially a missing word or two there (..and then along the passageway?) But other than that, the whole thing moved on nicely.

A great take on an often un-likeable character (at least to me) - thanks for posting it!

Review #4, by In The Shadows I Dwell

20th August 2010:
This was a very sweet little fic. Although I was never the biggest fan of Fleur/Bill this managed to capture the heart of everything that seems to hold them together in so few words, that love that ties them together despite even the largest hurdles they faced as a couple prior to their marriage. That being their love for one another. This was really apparent in this piece.

I also found Fleur's goodbye to Fred and George to be rather moving also, almost as though she knew that could very well be the last time she may see either of them. Although fast paced there is a real sense of this in this piece and you've managed to capture the intense pace of battle well, while still managing to hold onto the emotions that make them human.

Well done!

That was a really lovely missing moment, I thought. I loved Bill's indignation at Ginny being brought along and the twins' explanation, and Fleur's reaction to Ginny being on the verge of tears was really telling. I also particularly liked her anxiety at her and Bill being separated, but his confidence - you need that in a situation like that, I think. Great way to end it - don't say goodbye. Really hits you where it should. Excellent job!!

Touching. We know this doesn't end well for the Weasleys and this little lost moment only underscores the point.

Excellent flourish here having Bill go all protective of Ginny. And you had Gin perfectly in character with her retort. Frankly, everyone's characterization was spot on.

I really liked this.

I've never been a big fan of Fleur, but sometimes in stories like this I like her anyway. You did a good job writing her and the Weasleys. Like Fleur, I also especially liked the touching big brother protectiveness. The goodbyes and "don't say goodbye" was beautiful and kind of bittersweet, knowing what happened to Fred.

The story also had a good flow and although you wrote fast through a not so short timeframe, it worked well. You did a good job with this story.
