I always felt this bit of canon was one that got brushed over, so thanks for expanding it for us! The plotline fits well with what we have from canon, as does the attitude of the main characters. In particular, I like how you have a mixture of Ron and Hermione fighting, along with them moving towards the opposite!

At points, I wasn't quite sure about Ron's vocabulary - ". this" just doesn't hit me as Ron-esque, though reviewing rules prevent me from offering up more Ron-ish (aka cockney) alternatives. Still, the character itself, including motivations, and a complete inability to understand the female mind, was very true to canon!

You've captured the essence of Ron's character perfectly here! His sarcastic or just plain odd little comments littered here and there were hilarious and just like the dialogue we hear him speak in canon. I just loved the line: "It wasn't quite the time I'd been imagining doing this, but I think it's the thought that counts". The image of him slinging his arm over Hermione like that is hilarious and fits with that thought perfectly. I really like how it wasn't only Lavender that tormented Hermione, but her family, too. It shows that her life doesn't revolve around Ron and is more realistic than only that one haunting spirit, I think.

I really liked this! It was a great insight into Ron's mind. :)
