One of the best editions of the Bellatrix-kills-Tonks scene.

I love Bellatrix she is just so evil. You have her written very well and that isn't something I could flaw you on but when you have a piece of parenthesis here. "(Tonksí choice at that moment)" For me it takes away from the story and the reader can figure out that, you don't need to tell them.

Well, this is pretty darn dark! I like the realism of this piece - Belltrix was always one to torture as well as kill, and this is exactly the kind of torture that would hurt Tonks the most. The only thing that might make it more moving, and more dark, would be to have it slightly more from Bella's own viewpoint. At the moment, you describe her as a maniac and insane, and as such it loses some of the power it would have if we were simply shown these facts.

Still, a viciously violent piece, which highlights the stark brutality that a war will always contain.

You got Bellatrix and her character down very well. The descriptions of her laughter, the horrid things that she made Tonks do and the things she did to her were definitely the mark of insanity and just plain evil. In the beginning especially, though, her dialogue did seem a bit too...sane. I'm not sure exactly why, but--in my opinion, of course--it didn't quite fit with the non-dialgoue descriptions of her. The line I really did love, however, was "Don't worry, I'll take care of your mother and baby for you". That in itself is so eerie and creepy--so very Bellatrix. Tonks was done well too, she reacted and spoke exactly as I'd expect her to in canon. I do love that she had green eyes in the end--I saw it as a symbol of support for Harry.

I always love reading about Bellatrix and this piece was no exception. Great work. :)

Tonks and Bellatrix's banter was really clever and believeable the whole through, I thought, so good job on that. Bellatrix was hauntingly in-character, both condescending and maniacal at the same time. You also brought up an interesting topic: Death Eaters forcing the Order members to torture and kill each other using the Imperius. It's frightening to think that they could do that, and that the danger wasn't necessarily directly from the Death Eaters all the time.

Another thing, I hadn't realized it was canon that Bellatrix killed Tonks. I always thought Dolohov killed both Remus and Tonks, but I just looked it up, and you have it right. I suppose I should thank you for correcting me. :)

And now I need to go have a good cry, because this was a Tonks death fic, and it still kills me inside every time I realize she (and a lot of other characters that died in Deathly Hallows) is gone.

I love Bellatrix, and this was very in-character, however out of place, I feel. It seemed to mirror her conversation with Harry in OotP. What has to be noted is that they were alone when she rattled off at Harry and she was trying to stall him, keep him there until Voldemort arrived. Here, it just seemed a bit foolish to waste time with conversation when someone could hit her from behind when she was blathering to Tonks. I liked the threat about her mother and son, I woulda just liked it shorter with the talk, more with the hurt. :D Very well written, though. --Jenna
