the other lestrange brother didn't like bella? that really shows her character well when your own brother-in-law can't stand you and thinks you are evil

Hmmm, well this was certainly unique. I'd never really considered the fact that Bellatrix is indeed MARRIED, and it was really interesting to see how you examined this. Even better was the fact that you did so from her brother-in-law's point of view - it was jealousy or love causing the opinions, but a more objective viewing of the facts.

I also love the idea that there were Death Eaters still standing while Bellatrix and Molly fought, but that they didn't get involved on the basis of assuming Bellatrix would win. It fits perfectly with their understanding of certain emotions (*cough* love *cough*) that they would assume Molly's protective anger would make her a lesser opponent rather than a fiercer one.

The quote at the end, while being apt, did feel a little out of place with the angry and desolate tone of the piece, but other than that I loved it.

Nice contribution!

What an interesting take on things! I can certainly see someone from one of the old pureblood families thinking this way about Bella and her behaviour, because really it was inexcusable, wasn't it? And right in front of her husband too. I can really understand Rabastan reacting to her like this, even to the extent of celebrating her death, even if it meant that his side was now almost destined to be defeated. Better glorious in defeat than living through that indignity in victory, in a way. Having things in their place was important.

All in all a very good story - I almost wish you'd made it longer so there was more to read! Though its brevity is also in its favour because you managed to fit so much into so few words and that is a feat in itself. Well done!

I love this. Rabastan's feelings about Bellatrix and Voldemort are actually very believable; though we know pretty much nothing about him, I could so see his character in canon feeling that way as well. You know, I was thinking about how great this piece is, how serious and actually a really good character portrayal it is, and then comes the Wizard of Oz lyrics.

And it made it ten times better! Oh my goodness, that was hilarious. It's too true, as well, a bunch of surviving first years should have broken out into song when Bellatrix was killed...

Needless to say, I loved it. Everything was spot-on and the lyrics fit the story perfectly. Fantastic work!! :-)

Haha. I don't know if the end was meant to have a twist of humor or not, but it got a smile from me! Bellatrix is just like the Wicked Witch, isn't she? That was clever. I liked it. And the perspective from Rabastan was really interesting to read. I think you wrote this extremely well. Good job.
