Uh-oh, i'm crying now lol.
I can't beleive it, i've actually got tears rolling down my cheeks, this scene in the seventh book had me crying buckets. I loved the quote you used as well. It was Perfect.
Everybody was in character and i had a clear image of what was going on in my head.
I think all Harry Potter fans had a place in their hearts for Dobby, and i wouldn't be surprised if more than half of them cried at his death.
This was a brilliant short chapter, and it definitley deserves a ten out of ten.

I'll be honest. Out of all the deaths throughout the entire series--even including ones we don't see, like Harry's parents or Moody's--Dobby's death hit me the hardest.

Dobby was not only a model of courage, he was the whole series in a microcosm. I believe the main theme of the books is standing up to tyranny even when you know it's dangerous and might cost you dearly and Dobby just epitomizes that to me.

Your portrayal of Dobby here definitely did him justice and I'm always happy to get a little weepy (me, a grown man) at reading a well-written Dobby story.

This was absolutely brilliant and a testament to your admiration of Dobby. Support SPEW! Elf rights now!

Ah, this was such a great chapter! it portrayed Dobby's love for Harry very, very well. I loved it. You did a great job keeping this canon, while adding your own twist, which I loved. The writing was excellent, and I really felt as though I were Dobby, wanting to tell Harry how much I admired him.

Great job! 10/10, no doubt about it!

This is a really moving portrayal of Dobby's last minutes. He has never been a favorite of mine, but this really helps me to appreciate him as a character for the role he played in helping Harry and the rest of the characters. His was a tale that showed what freedom can do to a person, and it ends up saving Harry in the end.

Wow, what an amazing tribute to Dobby. You really did do him justice here, showing his heroics. You really did a nice job of showing all that he did to help Harry... Dobby was a big part and Harry wouldn't have been able to defeat Voldemort without him most likely. What a brave elf.. I love how you showed his character, his devotion to Harry, and just what he was like. You did a really nice job with this.. thanks so much for writing it! I enjoyed this story!

Marni, first of all I love that Hercules quote you included! (Go Disney *cough*) It is so incredibly fitting for this story. Dobby wasn't exactly the typical superhero, bravely fighting evil - but he had such a big heart and he gave everything he could possibly give. One of my favorite parts: "There was nothing that Dobby regretted doing, even up to the last breath he ever exhaled. As he felt the knife plunge into his chest, he accepted his fate. He would have loved to live on perhaps convince Miss Granger to make more elf hats for him but he accepted it. He was dying." I was teary and laughing at the same time ... you've captured irrepressible, wonderful Dobby so well in just a few paragraphs. This was the best tribute to Dobby I have ever read, my eyes are all misty right now. You did a brilliant job. 10/10
