That was really great! The ending was written really well, and I loved the comparison between Madam Pince and the old book, that was really creative! Great writing!

This is just darling! I love the way that his gruffness just makes her like him more. The book analogy is beautiful, and the story behind her love of them seems well thought-out and highly probable, given her extreme nature and dislike of most other people. The line about never seeing Filch mistreat a book made me laugh, especially because it was written so seriously. The tone of this piece was proper, in a way, which certainly suited Pince's character.

Terri, this story was really wonderful! The use of the old book as the metaphor was excellent. I found myself wanting to slap Ron at the end there - the insensitive git, if I do say so myself. This story really works well with the Filch one before, and it is so nice to see him have the courage to ask her out. You end with a sweet glimmer of hope, that really made me smile! Good job! 10/10/ :OD

Author's Response: Aww, thank you Andy! The old book metaphor just made sense - Pince has a strange love for them, and her career revolves around them, so why not have her mentality be like one as well? I agree with you about the Ron thing... even though I love the redhead, he can be really insensitive sometimes... Hermione can back me up on that one. I actually made sure that my story would work with Jenni's going so far as to bounce ideas off her and reading hers before starting mine to make sure the two meshed well. I couldn't resist adding the little bit of hope near the end... I have a soft spot for Madam Pince and an even bigger one for the Pince/Filch ship. Thank you for reviewing!

Very clever chaacter analogies and use of the metaphor of books, I found all of that description of Pince as a tightly bound book to be genuinely brilliant. The history you've given her makes her such a tragic character who refuses to see how twisted she had become by her own despair, but I like that you leave it with a chance for hope and happiness for two characters who are so wretched in the books. Great job Terri!

Author's Response: Thank you soo much! We wrote this story for Staffers like you, and it's wonderful that you liked my little contribution to the project. I always felt bad for Pince and Filch, and when Jenni took Filch and told me she was pro for that ship, it made me ecstatic. I suppose my love for the pair came across in my writing. The analogy of Pince being a book came when I needed to decide on a title, and then from there it simply flowed. Thanks for such a great review!
