How intriguing! I really like the idea of a Fear Keeper, and the ritual was - I admit - pretty cool. I was wondering how you'd turn it into a 'snare,' following along with your title, so I was surprised by the end. It made sense, of course, and I can't say I don't like to think he's suffering for his cowardliness. Just to be sure - is this taking place just before the trio's sixth year? Or earlier? I couldn't quite get a distinct timeframe, though I'd imagine that Slughorn only started moving around in that year after LV's return was made public. You really captured his character's weaknesses well without making him too despicable, so good work!

The only word that I can think of to describe this is sinister. Truly sinister. For a man so wrapped up in material pleasures, a secret such as the first one must have been terrible to keep. He wanted to stay away from the war, and in a way, he was responsible for giving the enemy his power. However, the memories that Snape carried seem a lot worse and the ending was just so very sad in that way, This story is truly excellent, Lyn. Just..wow. 10/10 - obviously! ~ andy x x x

A fascinating and brilliant look into the mind of one of the most morally ambiguous characters in the books and a very chilling conclusion with he and Snape swapping memories. Guilt for Snape's nightmarish memories hardly seems a fair trade up, but it's his punishment for again going about things in such a cowardly fashion. Great story Lyn! Great descriptions and you handled the characters very well.

Author's Response: Thank you so much for that wonderful review, Noblevyne. I am so excited that you liked it, since it was written for the staff. As for the insight in the character's head, that makes me even happier. Yes, we psychologist-wannabe's get easily excited. Thanks again for that review really made me grin!!!
