a rather abrupt -although most definitely effective- way to start the story! looking forward to see what happens next...but you can make it as angsty and teary as you want...it has to be realistic, and the poor girls did just loose their parents after all. unless it's a dream or it wasn't their parents that died.
anyway, brilliant work!

There will be parts of the story that are going to be a bit teary later on- but personally I do not really enjoy writing them so it will be sad but not as bluntly or as unexpectedly.
