The next chapter will be very sad, but eventually things will get better. This has the makings of a potentially good story.

Good begining.
I honestly wonder why Harry's teachers never realized something was wrong at home. I wonder if DD interfered with that, obliviating every teacher who realized Harry lived in hell and would have been much happier in prison.
